Benefit Dallas: a Superb Summer to Fall Transition Blush

Whether I like it or not, summer is going to end, as it always does. I’m trying to focus on positive aspects of fall, but the only things that come to my mind are plummy lipsticks and pumpkin pie. Since pumpkin pie is not exactly an Italian specialty and I probably won’t have any this fall (unless I make my own), the only good thing I can think of is actually fall beauty.

Benefit Dallas ReviewIt’s still very hot here in Bologna at the moment, so I’m not ready to think about straight-up automn makeup yet, but am just starting to reach for summer to fall transition products, a.k.a. summery makeup with an autumnal vibe.

Benefit Dallas Box o’ Powder (an outdoor glow for an indoor gal) falls exactly into this category. It’s a warm-toned plummy powder that Benefit states can be used both as a blush and a bronzer. On my skin tone, I think it only works as a blush.

This is the first Benefit product I purchased years ago and even repurchased since then. Despite looking a little scary in the box, it’s actually very natural once applied, no matter if my complexion is pale or tanned. It works wonders on my summer skin, but has that plummy/mauvy tint to it that makes it very fall appropriate as well. What I like most about Dallas is definitely the almost universally flattering shade.

Benefit Dallas Review SwatchIf you look carefully inside the packaging, you can see tiny speckles of glitter that translate to a very nice glow on the skin (no frost finish at all!). Texture-wise, it is more on the drier side (it’s not one of those buttery powders that seem to melt perfectly into the skin) and longevity is average for a powder blush.

The box houses a flat top brush that I use for on-the-go application: as far as complimentary blush brushes go, this one is not half bad.

What do you like about the fall? Hopefully, there are more good things to it than those I can think of! Have you already started wearing autumnal shades?

That’s really pretty. It has such pretty shimmers in it, I really like this kind of blushes when I don’t put so much makeup on. It gives really nice colour and also glow to my face

Me too, obviously, and I’m pretty sure it looks great across a wide range of skin tones.
