Briogeo: My Favorite Haircare Discovery of 2017

A review of Briogeo’s Don’t Despair, Repair deep conditioning mask, Rosarco repair shampoo, Scalp Revival charcoal + coconut oil micro-exfoliating shampoo, and Rosarco blow dry perfection and heat protectant crème

The beauty gods must’ve known that I’d be pretty lazy with hair and so they were kind enough to bless me with a mop that doesn’t require too much help or attention: it’s thick, healthy and looks OK even if I just quickly blow-dry it upside down.

Earlier this year, though, I decided to try degradé (similar to balayage, but even more natural-looking), which made my ends several tones lighter than my roots. And despite I’m very happy with the result, it’s undeniable that now my hair needs a bit of extra help to maintain its usual healthy state.

This is probably the third time I’ve used a curling wand this year… I guess the fact that I’m super lazy with styling my hair is a good thing for its health!

Enter: the Briogeo haircare range.

The star of the show here is the Don’t Despair, Repair! deep conditioning mask. I use it every other week after shampoo and it leaves my hair deeply nourished and glossy. Honestly, it’s THE best mask I’ve ever tried – worth every penny, if you ask me!

To wash my mane without stripping it, I alternate between the Rosarco repair shampoo and the Scalp Revival charcoal + coconut oil micro-exfoliating shampoo. The first boasts Briogeo’s signature blend of rosehip, argan and coconut oils to nourish, repair and fight frizz, while the latter contains charcoal to draw impurities from the scalp and micro-exfoliators to remove dead skin cells and product build-up. What I really love about these shampoos is that, even if they’re very gentle and sulfate-free, they still foam up and leave my hair feeling perfectly clean (which is not always the case with natural shampoos).

As a final step, before using a dryer, I apply the Rosarco blow dry perfection & heat protectant crème from mid-length to the ends. This keeps my hair protected from the heat (obvs!) and leaves it soft and nicely hydrated. It’s really good stuff!

All Briogeo’s products don’t contain any sulfates, parabens, phthalates, silicones, DEA and synthetic color. If you want to know more about the brand’s philosophy and the ingredients they use (or don’t use), check out this page on their website.

And if you too want a bit of Briogeo in your life (trust me, your hair will thank you), you can find the list of their retailers here.

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas filled with food, family, and fun. See you in 2018!

My hair isn´t healthy looking, despite me being so lazy with the styling. I honestly usually let it air dry and put it in a low bun 80% of the time. But the fact that I want to stay as blonde as I used to be when younger is taking a toll, especially on my ends. I still have a ton of hair products to go through, but I will keep Briogeo on my list of things to purchase.

Your hair looks beautiful but yes, I can imagine that it needs more maintenance now. I have only tried the hair mask from this brand and I love it! Thankfully I am boring with my hair so I can use drugstore brands (without SLS) and I don’t have to go the extra mile to nourish my hair.

Your hair honestly looks gorgeous! I wish I could just blow dry mine and it would sit perfectly.. instead I look like hagrid or a lion with an unkempt mane so I always need to straighten my mop haha! The hair mask sounds lovely though I’m desperately in need of something to nourish my hair!

Happy New Year, girly!! Love being back at Carol in a Page! <3
How gorgeous does your hair look, Carolina! It's looking strong & healthy. I have been searching for a really good deep conditioning mask so I am beyond thankful for your recommendation! I'm trying to "revive" my hair a bit but it's not easy since it's very thin but also damaged because of me being blonde for a number of years now. Just have to keep doing what I do and up my hair care game in terms of investing into a good mask!

I’ve tried a few products from this brand, and overall I liked it too! I like how most of their products were nourishing but not too heavy. I have fine hair so heavier textures that don’t rinse well really weigh it down.
