God, I miss having a bathtub!
Last week I spent a few days in Germany on a business trip and every single night I took advantage of the beautiful bathtub in my hotel room bathroom.
I only have a shower in my tiny apartment, which of course makes the job of getting myself clean pretty quick and efficient, but it completely lacks that relaxation/self-care aspect a bubble bath has.
I feel like I love Chanel for the same reason I love baths: that luxuriously comforting experience.
You know, these days you can get similarly good makeup looks with much cheaper products, but the feel-good experience Chanel provides is pretty hard to beat.
I mean, even just looking at the gorgeous products in the Chanel Numéros Rouges – Collection Libre 2017 lifts my spirits!
A few pieces from Chanel Numéros Rouges – Holiday 2017 Collection Libre: Trait de Caractère Eyeshadow Palette, Joues Contraste Blush in 380 So Close, Rouge Coco Gloss in 374 Romance, Stylo Yeux Waterproof Eyeliner in 857 Legendary Green, Rouge Allure Luminous Intense Lip Colour in N°4, Le Vernis Neon Nail Colour in 604 Scénario

Chanel Rouge Allure Luminous Intense Lip Colour in N°4
If you’re new to Chanel (in which case… what have you done with your life so far, woman?!?), the first product I recommend you try is a lipstick.
You know, you really can’t go wrong with a Chanel lipstick.
Especially, with a red Chanel lipstick.
Particularly, with a red Chanel lipstick in red limited edition packaging.
The texture of the Chanel Rouge Allure Luminous Intense Lip Colour in N°4 is so thin and comfortable that you practically can’t feel it on the lips, but it still manages to have good lasting power. Plus, it has the most beautifying effect on the lips, which look smoother and plumper.
Lip swatch of Chanel Rouge Allure Luminous Intense Lip Colour in N°4. See what I mean by “beautifying effect”? I wish my lips looked this good sans rouge! On the eyes I’m wearing the Trait de Caractère Eyeshadow Palette and Stylo Yeux Waterproof Eyeliner in 857 Legendary Green
Chanel Trait de Caractère Eyeshadow Palette
Swatches of the Chanel Trait de Caractère Eyeshadow Palette
My favorite eyeshadow palettes are from Chanel.
The Candeur et Expérience and Road Movie quads and the Architectonic Palette from last year’s Collection Libre combine an amazing shade selection with an incredible formula, but the Trait de Caractère Palette doesn’t fully convince me.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s not bad, but if I put it next to the others it doesn’t stand a chance.
I have to say, though, that the burgundy brown shadow in the middle is pretty freaking awesome. It has a buttery soft texture and its unique hue does wonders for my hazel eyes.
Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof Eyeliner in 857 Legendary Green
This eyeliner is SO. GOOD.
Pigmented, smooth, easy to blend and long-lasting, the Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof in 857 Legendary Green works equally well on the water- and lashlines. This deep forest green is perfect to give your eye makeup a touch of color while remaining completely wearable.
Chanel Rouge Coco Gloss in 374 Romance
Wearing the Chanel Rouge Coco Gloss in 374 Romance on my lips and the Trait de Caractère Eyeshadow Palette and Stylo Yeux Waterproof in 857 Legendary Green on my eyes
I’m usually not a gloss person, but I have to say that there’s something very fun and festive about the Chanel Rouge Coco Gloss in 374 Romance.
It’s very opaque for a gloss, not particularly sticky, yet pretty long-lasting.
Chanel Joues Contraste Blush in 380 So Close
Swatches of the Chanel Joues Contraste Blush in 380 So Close: heavy (R) and blended (L)
The Chanel Joues Contraste Blush in 380 So Close is extremely pigmented, which means that a little goes a very long way.
I have a feeling it would work great on darker skin tones, but if you have a light complexion like me you can still totally wear it. I recommend using a fluffy blush brush and only picking up a minimal amount of product. This way it gives you a beautifully healthy flush – which is exactly what I need to enliven my sallow winter complexion.
Good news is that it’s very easy to blend, so if you happen to pick up a little bit too much product, you normally can blend it out to get your desired intensity.
The texture is very refined and not in the least powdery.
Chanel Le Vernis Neon Nail Colour in 604 Scénario
Two coats of the Chanel Le Vernis Neon Nail Colour in 604 Scénario
I usually reserve this sort of bright nail polishes for the summer months, but at the moment I’m totally loving the Chanel Le Vernis Neon Nail Colour in 604 Scénario.
Its semi-matte finish makes the neon color more chic and modern, so I like wearing it without a top coat.

How are you, my friend? It’s been a while… Are you getting into the holiday spirit? Personally I’m getting there with a bit of help from holiday collections and big fat slices of pandoro!
