The one where I review the new Chanel Ombre Première Eyeshadows and babble about setting a Guinness World Record…
PHEW, what a loooong week.
Last Sunday I left to go to Germany for work and I think I set a Guinness World Record for using the most means of transportation to cover 600 km. I got in the car, on a train, on a taxi, on a plane, and on a taxi for two hours (my company’s EU headquarters are at a pretty remote location).
Then I stayed there until Wednesday afternoon when I had to redo the whole shebang in reverse order. Got home after 8 pm and went to the office at 8 am on Thursday. Needless to say that Friday evening I had a pretty epic TGIF moment!
While I was in Germany I was really looking forward to coming back home, not only because May in the Black Forest looked and felt like late November in Bologna, but also, more importantly, because I knew I had a few shadows from the new Chanel Ombre Première collection waiting for me at home.
The Ombre Première Eyeshadows feature a golden Chanel logo instead of the usual white
The collection includes a whole lot of new cream and powder eyeshadows, and I have two shades from each formula. Let’s have a look!
Chanel Ombre Première Longwear Cream Eyeshadows in 802 Undertone & 806 Terre Brûlée ($36 each)
Chanel Ombre Première Longwear Cream Eyeshadow in 802 Undertone
Chanel Ombre Première Longwear Cream Eyeshadow in 806 Terre Brûlée
I think the Chanel Ombre Première Longwear Cream Eyeshadows are pretty much the same thing as the Illusion D’Ombre Eyeshadows, which I guess have been/are going to be discontinued.
They have a fun spongy texture, which is super easy to apply and blend, but once it sets it doesn’t budge all day (I always use them on top of my trusty NARS Pro-Prime Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base).
Swatches of my Chanel Ombre Première Eyeshadows. Top to bottom: Longwear Cream Eyeshadow in 806 Terre Brûlée, Longwear Cream Eyeshadow in 802 Undertone, Longwear Powder Eyeshadow in 16 Blue Jean, Longwear Powder Eyeshadow in 14 Talpa
Chanel Ombre Première Longwear Powder Eyeshadows in 14 Talpa & 16 Blue Jean ($36 each)

Girl.
GUUURL!
The Chanel Ombre Première Longwear Powder Eyeshadow formula is IN-CREDIBLE!!!
Sooo creamy, pigmented, and easy to blend.
And long-wearing, too.
I want to try more shades.
I NEED to try more shades.
Today on my eyes I’m wearing the Ombre Première Longwear Powder Eyeshadow in 16 Blue Jean. Besides this gorgeous blue, I’ve used a black pencil on my water- and lashlines and some bronzer (the Dior Nude Air Care & Dare in 003 Bronze Tan) in the crease
Blue eyeshadow can be quite wearable, don’t you think?
I’m more and more convinced that Lucia Pica, Chanel’s Global Creative Makeup and Color Designer, can literally do no wrong. Since her first collection with Chanel (the Le Rouge Collection N° 1), their new releases have all been exceptionally good, and the Ombre Première range makes no exception.

May 15, 2017 at 9:49 amI just love blue eyeshadow! If I had more time to blend I’d wear it way more often. I’m actually looking forward to this Chanel launch, it all looks very promising!

May 15, 2017 at 10:30 amYou look amazing, and yes, blue eyeshadow is very wearable, especially such a pretty midnight blue.
And trust me, early May in the Black Forest can be a wonderful time, you just were out of luck with the weather.

May 16, 2017 at 1:20 amI wasn’t a fan of the Illusion d’Ombre (too much glitter, not enough color for the ones I tried), so I wonder if I’ll like the new Ombres Premieres creme better!

May 16, 2017 at 9:25 pmI have only two Illusion D’Ombre eyeshadows (Epatant and Rouge Brûlé) and I love them. I don’t really have any problems with pigmentation (Rouge Brûlé is especially pigmented). And the Ombre Premières are very pigmented, as well.
