Beautiful Makeup From Dior, Breaks and Bachelorette Parties

My review of Dior 5 Couleurs Eyeshadow Palette in 797 Feel and Diorshow Pump ‘n’ Volume Mascara + a little catching up

I reiterate: 2017 is Dior’s year.

The French maison has been releasing one great product after another and, after singing the praises of their spring and summer collections, today I wanna talk to you about their latest mascara and one of their newly reformulated eyeshadow quints.

Let’s begin with the latter!

Dior 5 Couleurs Eyeshadow Palette in 797 Feel ($62)

The Dior 5 Couleurs in 797 Feel is a very well though out little palette, featuring a satin plummy brown, a pearly champagne, a satin-matte dark brown, a shimmery rosy bronze and a matte medium brown.

With this perfectly balanced set of shades and finishes you can create virtually any look: a soft daytime wash, a rich nighttime smoky, and everything in between.

The shadows are nicely pigmented, easy to work with, not in the least powdery, and very long-lasting, so we can definitely say that they tick all the right boxes.

The Dior 5 Couleurs Eyeshadow Palette in 797 Feel in action: on my eye and swatched on my arm. The mascara I’m wearing is obviously Diorshow Pump ‘n’ Volume

Dior Diorshow Pump ‘n’ Volume Mascara ($29.50)

The new Dior Diorshow Pump ‘n’ Volume Mascara comes in a rubberized squeezable tube, which I really like

Mascara is such a personal thing, so what I can tell you is that to me personally the Diorshow Pump ‘n’ Volume Mascara is pretty damn good.

It gives my unimpressive lashes a nice amount of volume and length and it lasts all day. We’ve been having 35-degree weather here in Bologna lately and Pump ‘n’ Volume stays put all day with zero smudging or crumbling.

***

Hello, my friend, how’ve you been? May was a pretty hectic month for me and I had to take a break from the blogging world, but it feels SOOO good to be back. 🙂

What have you been up to? Any exciting news on your side of the screen?

The most exciting thing I’ve done since we last spoke was my best friend’s bachelorette party last Saturday. We drove down to Rimini and spent the whole day at the beach chilling, laughing, strolling and dancing.

It was such a perfect day. ❤️

Nice to see you back, Carolina! I’m very part-time to the blog at the moment, too – just far too busy! I’m also loving this mascara at the moment. Dior are really on it this season!

I’m really tempted by this mascara (I find the concept so clever), yet as you said, mascara is a very personal thing and I’m extremely picky about them! The fact that it doesn’t smudge sounds extremely promising, though! Glad you’re back to blogging 🙂

Yeah, the staying power is great, but what kind of formula do you prefer? This one’s a little thick and has a tendency to get slightly clumpy (which is what makes it volumizing), so if you prefer more defining, separating mascaras, this is not for you. If you like a bit of “drama” on your lashes it’s great, though.

Rimini for a bachelorette party? Now that sounds like fun. And on my side of the screen? Most things as usual, but I got a very unexpected promotion at work and will have to see how that affects my time schedule. Right now I live of prewritten posts to keep me on schedule, but I am not sure how things are going to work out.

Long time no see Carol, it’s nice to have you back. We are having a long weekend here and it’s so nice to take a break from work. I will catch up on posts and take some pictures, but I want to chill and pour myself a glass of wine. Love the eye makeup look, the eyeshadows are so pigmented. (I am re-writing my comment)

Those eyeshadows are so beautiful, yet they look natural on you! I am glad to hear you having fun at your friend’s bachelorette, and congrats on her upcoming nuptials!

Welcome back, definitely missed your presence in the blogsphere! And that eyeshadow palette felt like it’s made specially for me because those are my kind of shades. That could possibly be my first Dior palette.

The eyeshadow shades are perfection! Those kind of shades suit me better too, and they look lovely on you! I haven’t been up to much, finished exams and now I’m trying to get back into a blogging routine 🙂 xx

Welcome back! I was away for a quite long time as well, even though it is good to be back, it takes a while to get back into actually doing something. Is it the same way for you? That mascara is one of the things I really want to try from Dior! Many are raving about it so it shouldn’t be bad, right;)?

I literally just got a tube of Pump N’ Volume last week and it’s sitting on my desk, being debated if it wants to be opened or not. Thanks for the quick review on it and I think I’ll wear it tomorrow 😀 That eyeshadow combo looks beautiful on your eyes!

Welcome back! I hope your little break helped you recharge, sometimes a little bit of time away is very beneficial.
I haven’t tried the new Dior quints yet, but that’s on my to-do list for the next month!
