Dior Precious Rocks Holiday 2017 Collection & Being a Child Again

Every year, around Christmas time, I find myself wishing to travel back in time to when I still wondered how a kind, bearded man, managed to reach every single child in the world in just one night.

Can you remember what it was like to believe that anything was possible?

Ahhh, and that thrilling anticipation…

That magic is long gone, but at least now there are holiday makeup collections to give me that exciting feeling of anticipation.

You know, it’s almost like being a child again.

Almost.

Dior Precious Rocks is one of this year’s holiday collections I got most excited about and today I want to share my excitement with you.

Dior 5 Couleurs Precious Rocks Eyeshadow Palette in 857 Ruby, Diorific Khôl Velvety Lipstick in 741 Deep Ruby and Diorific Vernis in 745 Grenat

Dior Diorific Khôl Velvety Lipstick in 741 Deep Ruby ($38)

Lip swatch of the Diorific Khôl Velvety Lipstick in 741 Deep Ruby

The Diorific Khôl Velvety Lipstick in 741 Deep Ruby is a gorgeous deep browny red. Dior describes the formula as having a “powdery matte finish”.

Err, no. Not at all.

It’s definitely more of a satin-matte.

Anyways, longevity is good and it stays comfy the whole time, so I have nothing to complain, really.

I was worried its unusual shape would make it hard to apply without a brush, but it’s actually really easy as you basically just use it like a lip crayon.

Dior Diorific Vernis in 745 Grenat ($28)

Today on my nails I’m wearing the Diorific Vernis in 745 Grenat

The Diorific Vernis in 745 Grenat has a beautifully opaque and self-leveling formula that makes it a great one-coater. Plus, its wide, domed brush allows you to cover a whole nail in one swipe for the quickest manicure ever.

Dior 5 Couleurs Precious Rocks Eyeshadow Palette in 857 Ruby ($63)

Swatches of the Dior 5 Couleurs Precious Rocks Eyeshadow Palette in 857 Ruby. There are no mattes, but the brown and burgundy have a satin finish when blended out

Today I’m wearing the Dior 5 Couleurs Precious Rocks Eyeshadow Palette in 857 Ruby and Diorshow Pump ‘n’ Volume mascara on my eyes, the Diorific Khôl Velvety Lipstick in 741 Deep Ruby on my lips and the Diorific Vernis in 745 Grenat on my nails

If you only wanted to get one thing from the Dior Precious Rocks Holiday 2017 Collection I think the 5 Couleurs Precious Rocks Eyeshadow Palette in 857 Ruby  should be itThe color selection is beautiful and the shadows are nicely pigmented and blend like a dream.

We don´t have Santa bring the gifts, in Germany it is the Christkind, an angel that flew in to our living room while we were witing on the stairs and rang a bell when the candles were lit and the presents put out. Ah, the magic! It is amazing recreating it for my kids now.

You created a beautiful eye makeup with the palette, Carol! I have been intrigued with the new Dior lipsticks, now I’m tempted to place an order for one!

I feel the same way about Holiday Collections. Well, when there’s good ones to look forward to anyway. Totally digging that palette! The shades are my kinda shades.
