Some of you may remember that in my last monthly favorite installment I blabbered about January being pretty uneventful and the weather extremely bipolar. Well, not much changed in February weather-wise: we had many beautiful spring-like days until someone decided to brag about her ‘season-detecting superpowers’ and how she could feel the spring coming… Turns out I might have evoked an ancient curse and triggered the wrath of the gods.
Worst weather in months, from the Alps all the way down to Sicily.
Now, my dear fellow Italians, rest assured I won’t EVER do that again. Pinky promise.
Moving on to events, February was DA SH*D… The month started off with Karen from Makeup and Beauty Blog letting me know she had selected me as one of the contributors who will help her out while she is on maternity leave. Karen was the first beauty blogger I started following many moons ago (MBB is NINE years old!) and getting her stamp of approval on my own blog meant the world to me. She is SOOO brilliant! If, for some strange reason, you don’t know her blog, go check it out RIGHT NOW. You can thank me when you come back to finish reading this post (but if you lose yourself in her witty prose, I’ll understand). 😉
So starting any day now, you’ll be able to get an extra dose of Carol in a Page by visiting makeupandbeautyblog.com. I hope you’ll come say hi!
OK, I should probably get to my current crushes now, so without any further ado…
Max Factor Crème Puff Blush – 10 Nude Mauve
When I saw Anne (whom you probably know as Linda, Libra, Loca) looking all radiant and nicely flushed in her review of the shade Seductive Pink, I just knew that I had to have one of these blushes! She’s been claiming throughout her pregnancy that she doesn’t have that beautiful pregnancy glow, so it all had to be down to the blush, right? 😉 Anyways, being in need of a true nude blush, I picked up the shade Nude Mauve and boy am I glad I did. Whenever I’m running late (*cough*most of the time*cough*), I just sweep it on my cheekbones and it works beautifully as a blush/bronzer hybrid. It gives me the most natural glow and subtle definition. I absolutely love it!
Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner – Jet Black
This is my all-time favorite liquid liner. I mentioned it before in an empties post and after that I didn’t repurchase it right away because I wanted to get more use out of my Maybelline gel liner, but, as you probably know, liquid and gel liner are not the same thing at all… So, since my eyeliner game was suffering because of its absence, I finally repurchased it and was glad to find out that my love was enhanced, rather than diminished, by our days apart. It really does stay put all day, it’s a very intense black and the pen never dries out. AMAZEBALLS!
I’ll skip through the next products pretty quickly, as I’ve already talked about them quite recently. I’ll link the relevant posts, so that you can check them out in case you missed them.
Charlotte Tilbury Luxury Palette – The Dolce Vita
If you read my review, then you’ll know that this palette makes me dream – quite literally. The shadows are super creamy, pigmented and blendable. Anything you’d expect from a 50-euro quad!
MAC Velvetease Lip Pencil – Lover’s Lane
I reviewed this lip crayon in my last post and I love how pigmented and comfortable to wear it is, but the thing that made me truly fall head over heels is its vibrant orange color.
MAC Lipstick – All Fired Up
As I said in the post about the products I rediscovered in the month of February, this is the lipstick I’d wear if I were set to conquer the world. I love its name almost as much as I love its shade, a gorgeous warm-toned fuchsia, and finish, a true, powdery matte.
Anything exciting in your little corner of the planet? I hope the wrath of the gods didn’t reach you where you are…
