The Giorgio Armani Lip Magnet in 507 Garçonne & Industrial Espionage

#LipstickWeek, Part 1 of 3: Giorgio Armani Lip Magnet in 507 Garçonne ($38)

So.

Apparently magnetic cosmetics are a thing right now. Or, at least, I think they’re becoming a thing.

Lately we’ve seen a magnetic iron-based mask from Dr. Jart, magnetically charged pigments form MAC, and now…..

*DRUM ROLL*

…the Giorgio Armani Lip Magnets!!!

*ROUND OF APPLAUSE*

Actually, these new Armani liquid lipsticks are not really magnetic, but are supposed to “bind with the lips like a magnet”… Well, that’s just a technicality – I definitely see a trend here! Don’t you think?

Have you noticed how beauty brands always launch similar things all at the same time? The sane explanation is probably that when the big ingredient/product manufacturers come up with something new, they then sell it to all the brands, but my crazy brain thinks it more fun to fantasize about intrigue and industrial espionage.

Anyways, I guess you’re not here to hear my mental gibberish, so let’s focus on the new Giorgio Armani Lip Magnet in 507 Garçonne.

Giorgio Armani Lip Magnet 507 Garçonn Swatch ReviewWearing the Giorgio Armani Lip Magnet in 507 Garçonne on my lips and the NARS Long Hot Summer Eyeshadow Palette on my eyes

507 Garçonne is a muted plummy rose that I find the perfect daytime color for the fall and winter, especially if you only wear one layer. If you want it a little darker and more intense, you just need to add a second layer, so it’s almost like having two products in one!

Formula-wise, my Giorgio Armani Lip Magnet is also very nice. It’s a liquid lipstick that doesn’t dry down completely, but almost – I’d say 95% (if I kiss the back of my hand, it transfers just ever so slightly, while it doesn’t to my cup). This means it’s very long-lasting, but still really comfortable to wear.

The texture is super thin, which is a good thing, because you forget you’re even wearing it, but at the same time that means that it doesn’t feel moisturizing (just like most liquid lipsticks don’t). If you have dry lips, you should have a look at the Chanel Rouges Allure Ink, which have a slightly more emollient feel (but, as a trade-off, don’t last as long).

At $38, the Giorgio Armani Lip Magnets are definitely a splurge, but maybe you can include one in your letter to Santa? I guarantee you it’ll make you one very happy girl on Christmas morning! Personally, I’ve been grinning from ear to ear since it landed on my doorstep! 😉

Ahhh, the power of lipstick…

Your suggestion of asking Santa sounds like a pretty good idea 😉 I was literally thinking one of these would make a brilliant stocking filler for most people!! The shade you’re wearing is so gorgeous.

I am totally on board with the espionage scenario, it is way more interesting than the other one. Garconne isn´t my shade, but it looks amazing on you.

Wow this is a great color! The formula sounds very much like the Diorific liquid matte, thinner than Chanel’s Allure but still very comfy.

I must have been living under the rock, I haven’t heard about magnetic trend before, I only saw the nail polish ones. Garconne is a beautiful colour and really suits you. Maybe I find it under the Christmas tree 🙂

This looks so pretty on you! I hadn’t heard about the magnetic trend yet. How interesting! Do you think it really lives up to its claims?? I am always fascinated with what beauty companies come up with haha. Either way, this sounds like a lovely buy. I might just have to splurge on this for myself or some Christmas gifts! And yes, it’s already that time of year…. 😛

Ooh, I had mostly only seen swatches of the reds until now, so I was on the fence… but I like this one a lot! it’s pinker than I tend to go, but lately just-bright-enough shades like this have drawn my attention, so I’ll have to try it out!

It also deserves a look because I haven’t yet found a liquid lippie that I love; the nars lip velvets are the best so far, but I don’t classify them as matte, really… I was surprised to hear you say that you find most other liquid lipsticks to be hydrating, though — I’ve always found them the complete opposite!

p.s. I really like this color on you! 🙂

I meant that this one isn’t hydrating, just like most matte liquid lipsticks aren’t, sorry if it wasn’t clear! The good thing is it’s not drying either! 😉

Wow these sound super unique, I’m kind of intrigued with all this magnetic talk haha! Firstly I absolutely love the packaging on these. Pink and red has always been one of my favourite colour combinations. Honestly, packaging plays a huge part in me purchasing things haha. But 507 Garçonne looks so pretty, it’s definitely a ‘me’ Autumn shade. A little more subtle with a beautiful pinky undertone. Reading all your lip product reviews has just made me want to give away all my money now haha!!:D
