My love for bright matte lipsticks is well documented throughout the blog, so you won’t be surprised to hear that when I read Lancôme was launching a matte version of their famous Juicy Shakers, I totally squealed on the inside (I was checking my phone while waiting for a doctor’s appointment, so squealing on the outside would’ve probably been a little inappropriate).
Out of the seven shades available, I surprisingly (not!) picked the bright fuchsia. As you can see in the picture below, shade 378 Pink Power is not for the faint of heart, as it’s a mega-watt, could-be-seen-from-the-moon type of bright (at least on my very light lips. If you have pigmented lips, the color may look more toned-down).
Today I’m wearing the Lancôme Matte Shaker in 378 Pink Power on my lips and the ColourPop Super Shock Shadow in Desert on my eyes
The formula is very lightweight and definitely has that “second-skin” feel Lancôme claims. If you like the Giorgio Armani Lip Magnets, you’ll be pleased to hear that the Lancôme Matte Shakers are the exact same thing (I even compared their ingredient lists and they’re practically identical).
The Lancôme Matte Shaker has the same cushion applicator of the Juicy version. You just need to shake the bottle for the cushion to pick up the product
Even though it may seem a little gimmicky, the cushion applicator delivers just the right amount of product to cover both lips with precision – the Lancôme Matte Shaker has to be the easiest to apply liquid lipstick I’ve ever tried!
After you put it on, it goes matte in just a few minutes and then stays put for a very long time. It remains comfortable on the lips, doesn’t go patchy, and if you have a long day you can easily apply more on top of what’s left.
The Lancôme Matte Shaker gets a big thumbs-up from me, so if you like a matte finish it’s definitely a product worth checking out!
