Let’s start with a short identikit of my parents: my father is the stereotypical Mediterranean type – black hair (as long as he had some), brown eyes, dark complexion; my mother has blond hair, green eyes and a skin that reflects sunrays. I inherited my father’s hair (only in color, not in quantity) and eyes, but my mother’s amount of melanin.
Don’t get me wrong, I do tan nicely, but getting the color my father achieves in 3 hours takes me about 3 whole weeks. My legs especially have quite a hard time getting brown.
I think you can well imagine my delight when I recently chanced upon a nice little product that mimics the effect of a weekend at the beach in just a few spritzes: Ladies and Gentlemen, I introduce you to Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs! And what the hell is that?! – you’re probably wondering.
First of all, it’s NOT a self-tanner; it’s more like a body foundation that washes off in the shower. According to the label, you’ll ‘get smooth, sexy legs in an instant. Water and transfer resistant formula won’t rub off on clothes. Lightweight makeup stays fresh and natural looking all day. Instantly covers veins, freckles, and imperfections for flawless legs and feet. Formulated with Palmaria extract to help stimulate microcirculation for firmer looking legs’.
Now, in all honesty, if, like me, you have legs that pretty much look like a soccer full-back’s, you won’t magically turn into Gisele Bündchen, but at least you’ll have Gisele’s glowy, even complexion, which is better than nothing (remember, the glass is half full).
Although it’s not a magical spray, I like it very much. I have ‘Medium Glow’ (the second lightest out of 4 shades), which imparts the most natural color, the same I would get after a few days in the sun. Even if it doesn’t transform you into a super model, I think its radiant effect will definitely improve the overall appearance of your legs.
Just try and see!

July 17, 2015 at 4:32 pmI recently bought the “light glow” of this and it’s a little dark on me (my skin doesn’t get the chance to tan because it reflects the light)
But I loooove this product nonetheless! It’s a lifesaver in the summer and so easy to use 🙂
