L-R: L’Oréal Through the Looking-Glass Color Riche Lipstick in 163 Orange Magique – The Mad Hatter, L’Oréal Through the Looking-Glass Color Riche Lipstick in 377 Perfect Red – The Red Queen, and L’Oréal Through the Looking-Glass Color Riche Lipstick in 374 Intense Plum – The White Queen
I’ve always loved Alice in Wonderland. First, the marvelous Disney movie when I was a kid, and then the brilliant books as an adult. If you’ve never read them because you thought it was just children’s literature, let me tell you that, well, it’s not.
Both Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass are full of witty word play and striking symbolism, which in my opinion make them more deeply enjoyable for an adult rather than a child (provided you like that sort of things).
But anyways, today I’m here to talk about lipsticks, not books!
To celebrate the new Through the Looking-Glass movie, L’Oréal has recently released six of their existing Color Riche shades in GORGEOUS themed packaging inspired by some of the main characters: Alice – 345 Cherry Chrystal, The Time – 116 Charme Doré, The Cheshire Cat – 226 Rose Glacé, The Mad Hatter – 163 Orange Magique, The White Queen – 374 Intense Plum, and The Red Queen – 377 Perfect Red.
L-R: L’Oréal Through the Looking-Glass Color Riche Lipstick in 374 Intense Plum – The White Queen, L’Oréal Through the Looking-Glass Color Riche Lipstick in 377 Perfect Red – The Red Queen, and L’Oréal Through the Looking-Glass Color Riche Lipstick in 163 Orange Magique – The Mad Hatter
What I find particularly impressive is that not only does each one of the lipsticks have a unique packaging design, but they’re also encased in different materials. For instance, green canvas for The Mad Hatter, white faux-leather for The White Queen, and red velvet for The Red Queen.
Major thumbs up to L’Oréal!
If you’re wondering about the formula, what you need to know is that the Color Riche Lipsticks are creamy and glossy, yet pretty long-lasting. The biggest drawback for me is the scent, which I really dislike (does anyone like it?!), but at least it dissipates rather quickly once they’re on the lips.

The RRP for the Through the Looking Glass Color Riche Lipsticks is €16, but I got them on amazon.it for €9.90, which I think is an amazing deal for such unique lipsticks. I couldn’t find any information on this limited edition on any foreign websites, though, so I’m afraid it’s an Italian exclusive.
“And how do you know that you’re mad?”
“To begin with,” said the Cat, “a dog’s not mad. You grant that?”
“I suppose so,” said Alice.
“Well, then,” the Cat went on, “you see a dog growls when it’s angry, and wags its tail when it’s pleased. Now I growl when I’m pleased, and wag my tail when I’m angry. Therefore I’m mad.”
I’ve always thought so… 😉 – Sorry, crazy cat ladies!
Do you like Alice in Wonderland, too? Have you seen the new movie? And what do you think of the new L’Oréal Color Riche Lipsticks in themed packaging?
On a completely different note, over the next couple of days I’ll be in Verona (the city of Romeo and Juliet) for Adele’s concert. Add me on Snapchat (carolinapage), if you want to follow my adventures! 😉

May 28, 2016 at 8:24 pmOf course I haven’t seen the new movie, going to the movies is one thing that you really, really cant do with a newborn. But I loved the books and the “old” movie, and they are definitely not children books.
Too bad that the LE seems to be Italian exclusive, I would make an exception in my “red-lipsticks-no-buy” for these beautiful colors in that awesome packaging.

May 29, 2016 at 10:01 amAs you already know, I love the Color Riche scent! I love the packaging, it is so unique yet it stays very L’Oréal-like and classy! The shades are gorgeous as well! I don’t understand why Amazon always has a better deal when it comes to L’Oréal, it’s such a shame though that these are exclusive to Italy!

May 30, 2016 at 5:58 amOmg I didn’t see these in Canada but I hope they come out with these, I LOVE the packaging! I don’t even care for the colours, I want those lipstick tubes! Orange Magique is gorgeous! I haven’t seen the second movie but I did see the first one. I’m more into the art and styling in the movie rather than the story!

May 30, 2016 at 12:50 pmIt must be available in Italy only, I haven’t see it around before! I love Alice in Wonderland when I was a kid and I still do, I haven’t seen the second movie yet but I will definitely do when I get a chance. Cats and dogs are so different aren’t they? Maybe that’s the reason they don’t get a long well, since they do the opposite things 🙂
I hope you had a great time in Adele’s concert, I am sure her performance was amazing 🙂

May 31, 2016 at 7:30 pmWow, the packaging is amazing! It’s the first time I hear about these lipsticks, so I guess you’re right, they must be exclusive to Italy. I’m hoping they’ll eventually come here though, I would definitely buy at least one!
