Make Up For Ever recently revamped their Artist Rouge Lipsticks. M500, a stunning deep burgundy with a matte finish, is the one I picked out of 45 new shades
If I ever decided to set up a poker night at my place, I might not have enough chairs for everyone (#tinyapartmentstruggles), but chips would not be a problem: I have a feeling my lip product collection would be big enough to be a perfect replacement.
In case you haven’t noticed, lipsticks are without a doubt my favorite makeup products to wear and collect, and honestly a day doesn’t go by without me seeing a new one that I’d like to get. But for pretty obvious budget and space reasons (#tinyapartmentstruggles) most of the time I have to restrain myself from actually making a purchase.
Sometimes, though, my restraining efforts are unsuccessful, and other times they’re pretty much non-existent…
Yes, Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge in M500 ($22), I’m talking about you!
I love the very pointy tip of the new Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge Lipsticks
For some reason, I was never majorly attracted to the original Make Up For Ever Artist Rouges, but as soon as I saw pictures of the revamped version popping online, I decided that I wanted to try one.
Was it the super pointy bullet or the sleek black and silver packaging that made me enter my credit card details on the Sephora website?
I don’t really know, but what I do know is that I’m extremely happy with my purchase!
First of all, the Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge Mat in M500 is a real pleasure to apply: it glides effortlessly across the lips, and looks opaque and even in just one swipe, which is pretty impressive for such a deep shade. The pointy tip is not just visually pleasing, but also very useful for a precise application in the corners of the mouth.
Wearing the new Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge Mat in M500. When applying a color this deep, I recommend really taking your time and using a matching liner to get a sharp edge (which, as you can see, I didn’t do!)
Luckily, the pleasing experience doesn’t end after application, as the matte formula feels super comfy on the lips.
Wear-time is good, but this is definitely not the type of color you can just casually put on in the morning and expect to still be perfectly intact when you get home in the evening. Be prepared to touch it up at least a couple of times throughout the day if you want it to look flawless.
Anyways, if you’re looking for the ultimate vampy lipstick for the upcoming season, I highly recommend you check out the Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge Mat in M500, as I find it rather impressive. The obsession continues…
So, who’s down for a poker game? 😉
