I feel like May was a pretty uneventful month except for the very beginning and the very end. I had a big birthday BBQ with all my friends on May 1st (although my birthday was actually on April 30) and, if you follow me on Snapchat (carolinapage), you’ll know that I went to Verona for Adele’s concert on May 29 and 30.
Everything in between went by in a blur.
When I started doing the monthly favorites posts, I vowed that I’d never ever say things like ‘I can’t believe it’s already XXX, time really does fly‘, but this time I have to break my vow, because…
I can’t believe it’s already JUNE, time really does fly! 😉 I can’t believe that it’s already been a month since I turned 30, AND I also can’t believe that my blog is nearly one year old! Mind-blowing!
I could definitely go on with many more clichés, but I think I’ll tell you about my May beauty favorites, instead!
YSL Rouge Pur Couture The Mats in 208 Fuchsia Fetiche
The YSL Rouge Pur Couture The Mats in 208 Fuchsia Fetiche is one of the products I rediscovered in May and, boy, am I glad I did. It has one of the best formulas I’ve ever tried (if not THE best), which is luxurious, comfortable, pigmented, and long-lasting. If you’re ever in the market for a high-end lipstick make sure you check out this INCREDIBLE range.
KIKO Velvet Passion Matte Lipstick in 319 Chocolate
If YSL is not in your budget right now, you may have a look at the new KIKO Velvet Passion Matte Lipsticks. Make sure you pick your shade carefully, though, as one of the three I have tends to emphasize dryness. My favorite is 319 Chocolate, because I have nothing like it in my collection. Check out my review for more details and swatches.
BIODERMA Hydrabio Moisturizing Anti-UV Mist SPF 30
The BIODERMA Hydrabio Moisturizing Anti-UV Mist SPF 30 was one of my May Fantastic Finds. It is such a clever little invention! It allows me to top up my sunscreen throughout the day without disturbing my makeup. I really can’t be without it now!
Sisley Phyto Cernes Éclat Eye Concealer in 02
If you read my review of the Sisley Phyto Cernes Éclat (which is not pictured here!), then you’ll know that it is a very expensive concealer, but I love it so much that I think it’s worth the steeper price tag. It contains a number of plant extracts to soothe and moisturize the eye area, and shade 02 is perfect to neutralize my dark circles. Plus, it’s very lightweight and doesn’t crease.
L’Oréal Through The Looking-Glass Color Riche Lipsticks
I’ve just reviewed the L’Oréal Through The Looking-Glass Color Riche Lipsticks in my previous post, but I couldn’t not include them here, as they have the most gorgeous, original packaging I’ve ever seen (especially from an affordable brand).
Tom Ford Neroli Portofino EdPÂ and Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue EdT
I tried to choose one out of the two, but I just couldn’t. I love them equally! Tom Ford Neroli Portofino and Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue are the fragrances that made me get back into wearing perfume, and if you like light, citrusy scents, I highly recommend giving them a sniff. Have a read of my review for more details.
What have you been loving over the past month?

June 2, 2016 at 5:10 amI am still planning to pick up that Bioderma Moisturizing Anti-UV mist but first I need to get my arse to the drugstore. What a great list of favourites and welcome to the big 3-0 club. Trust me, time flies extremely fast as soon as you hit 30. LOL!

June 7, 2016 at 12:17 amI was pretty close to buying Kiko products from the Memorial Day sale here in the US but I backed out. I want to try their eyeshadows though! I love the Loreal lipsticks but I haven’t gotten any from the Looking Glass collection.
