Power Pro Nail Lacquers: KIKO Really Hit the Spot!

Let me tell you, KIKO’s latest nail polish launch has nothing to do with their previous streaky, chip-prone releases. The Power Pro Nail Lacquers retail for only €/£ 4.90 ($ 8.00), but can definitely compete with more expensive options.

I took advantage of the buy 3 get 1 free offer KIKO is running, and out of the forty-five shades available I picked up four, which you can see in the picture above. From pinky to index:

  • 36 Aquamarine
  • 18 Iris
  • 32 Lime Green
  • 07 Peach

If you go have a look at these in store, bear in mind that they go on brighter than they appear in the bottle. I thought Aquamarine and Peach would be pastel colors, but they’re definitely not.

Application is made super easy by the wide brush (THANK YOU, KIKO!) and, although I always apply two coats of any nail polish, you can get away with just one if you’re in a hurry.

On my nails, Power Pros last about five days before starting to chip, which to me is pretty impressive (I also apply Mavala’s Mavadry top coat, but I’m not sure whether it affects lasting power or not). I highly recommend trying these if you haven’t already!

I think it’s very hit or miss, some things are really good, others not so much. I very much like their stick eyeshadows and color correction powder, for instance, but I tried a mascara and a liquid liner that were huge misses. And for some reason I would never get one of their foundations, but I’ve never really tried one.
