Over the last few months, I feel like KIKO have really upped their game and made some very impressive launches: the Rebel Romantic collection as a whole is really spot-on, the Midnight Siren liquid lipsticks are an outstanding addition to this product category and their most recent lip launches are seriously drool-inducing.
Have you already gotten a chance to see the new Glossy Dream Sheer Lipsticks and Gossamer Emotion Creamy Lipsticks? If you haven’t, then just let me tell you that they look amazing! When you click the little logo-embossed button on one end, the other end comes out to reveal the bullet.
So, we’ll probably all agree that the packaging is great, but is what’s inside just as good as the outside? Keep reading to find out!
Glossy Dream Sheer Lipstick – 201 Beige Rose
If this is not your first time on my blog, you’ll probably know that I mainly use matte, bold lipsticks. What you don’t know is that when it comes to nudes, I actually like them to be more on the glossier side. 201 is a warm-toned beige that is pretty opaque and long-lasting for a sheer lipstick (about 4 hours). This shade has enough peachiness to it not to look too concealer-like and I plan on pairing it with a black cat flick for a 60s-inspired look. It doesn’t settle into lip lines and feels hydrating over time.
Gossamer Emotion Creamy Lipstick – 106 Mauve
It seems like KIKO and I have very different ideas of what mauve looks like. Just like the Midnight Siren Haughty Mauve liquid lipstick (swatched here), this one doesn’t look like mauve at all, at least to me. In my mind, mauve is way more cool-toned and lilac-y than shade 106 is, don’t you guys agree? Anyway, despite not matching its name, this is a great daytime shade nonetheless.
The formula is creamy and hydrating, but doesn’t feel heavy or too slippery on the lips. It’s one of those lipsticks you forget you’re even wearing! I didn’t experience any smudging or bleeding, but if you’re usually prone to that, I recommend using a lip liner. Longevity is pretty good: without eating, it lasts about 5 hours on me (maybe it would last even longer, but I can’t go any longer without eating, LOL!).
[If you want to see the black from the same line in action, check out the look I created with it a few weeks ago.]
Creamy Colour Comfort Lip Liner – 308 Geranium
I got this liner as a free gift for buying the two lipsticks. Its formula is very similar to (or, most likely, the same as) the Rebel Romantic liners (reviewed here), but this one feels even more comfortable on the lips, so it is ideal to be worn on its own. Geranium is a very warm fuchsia, a color I often reach for in the summer.
When I got these at the store, I also saw the new Holiday collection. The display was very Christmassy and eye-catching, but I didn’t really see anything I actually wanted for myself. What I did want for myself was something I saw among their new face powders, but that might be another post for another time. 😉
Have you tried anything impressive from KIKO lately? Are you going to give any of the new lip products a go?

November 7, 2015 at 1:13 pmI haven’t stopped by KiKo in ages, I guess I need to do that soon!
And I agree, that shade isn’t mauve, it is a very pretty brick red in my opinion.

November 9, 2015 at 7:53 amBoth lipsticks look fantastic! I’m planning to make an online order later this month, I hope they’ll have these new lippies in the US e-store by then. What’s the theme of the Christmas collection? I always get really excited about Kiko’s limited edition releases!

November 10, 2015 at 6:30 pmIt’s called ‘Cosmic Starlets’, but it doesn’t really have a theme. You can see it if you access their French website: http://www.kikocosmetics.com/fr-fr/maquillage/series-limitees/cosmic-starlets.html

November 14, 2015 at 6:51 pmIs it the lighting or the last one is kind of matte?
Carol in a
November 15, 2015 at 2:38 pmYes, the last one is a lip liner and is fully matte.
