Show a Little Lovin’… March 2016

The one where I show you the products I’m rediscovering during the current month. March lucky picks are…

YSL Gloss Volupté – 49 Terriblement Fuchsia

This shimmery, hot pink lip gloss and I will soon be featured in a new TV show centering around unsolved mysteries… I really have NO idea why I bought it. It’s the type of color I’d imagine Barbie to wear and we all know that my 5’5”, brown-eyed, brunette self couldn’t look any more different from the long-legged, blue-eyed, blond doll. These types of cool-toned pinks are possibly the only shades I don’t think I can pull off. I mean, you saw me pull off some bizarre hues on the lips, including black, chocolate brown and purple, but hot pink is just not for me. Anyways, this month I’ll have to wear the YSL Gloss Volupté in 49 Terriblement Fuchsia at least a couple of times, as a punishment for wasting a good chunk of money on something I never ever use.

YSL Gloss Volupté 49 Terriblement Fuchsia Rouge Volupté Shine 19 Fuchsia in Rage

YSL Rouge Volupté Shine – 19 Fuchsia in Rage

What’s with me and YSL cool-toned pinks?! This one is similar to the one above, but leans a little more purple. Definitely not the most flattering shade on me, but it does suit me a little bit better than the pink gloss, I think. The formula is very creamy and moisturizing and the finish is super shiny (I’m pretty sure it’s the shiniest lipstick I own). Despite being so creamy, it lasts quite well on the lips and leaves a very pretty stain behind.

KIKO Color Definition Eyeliner and Kajal04 Amazon Blue

I haven’t worn blue liner all winter, but my Spring 2016 FOTD has reminded me how great blue is at enhancing my eye color. This particular one is from KIKO’s Fall 2015 Rebel Romantic collection and is probably the most beautiful shade of blue I’ve ever seen (it kinda reminds me of Pantone Snorkel Blue, but darker), so it definitely deserves more love than it’s been getting.

March Makeup Rotation SwatchesL-R: YSL Terriblement Fuchsia, YSL Fuchsia in Rage, KIKO Amazon Blue, KIKO Rosy Brown, Chanel Affinité

KIKO Long-Lasting Stick Eyeshadow 05 Rosy Brown

As I said before, I love KIKO’s shadow sticks for quick makeup looks: I apply them on the mobile lid and along the lower lashline straight from the stick, blend the edges with a fluffy brush, and… BAAAM, I’m out the door. Shade 05 Rosy Brown was the first one I bought, but ever since I got 06 Golden Brown, my favorite, it hasn’t gotten very much love. Well, this month I’m making up for that!

Chanel Le Blush Crème de Chanel – 65 Affinité

Chanel cream blushes have a BOMB formula, but sadly, they look like they’re being discontinued (why, Chanel? WHY???). Even though they’re supposed to be a cream-to-powder formula, they don’t really look like powder on the skin, the just look like… skin! The finish is matte, yet luminous (I guess satiny would be the best word to describe it), and they’re pigmented, yet easy to blend. I absolutely love the two shades I have! Affinité is a pretty, cool-toned pink, which will definitely be getting tons of love over the next few months (for some reason, I think spring calls for rosy cheeks).

Are there any colors you think don’t suit you? Do you have any barely touched products in those shades? Inquiring minds want to know…

Hahaha! I am forcing myself to wear Fuchsia In Rage too! And my Marc Jacobs ;lipstick, can’t remember the name now…oh and my Nars Fanny. For some reason the ones I usually reach for are drugstore brands. Ugh!

The YSL Fuchsia in Rage looks lovely as a shade but it might be too bright on the lips so that could be the reason you are not wearing it. I wish you had lip swatches so I could actually see the products on the lips!

I wish pink would suit me, especially on the eyes. I have brown eyes too, I don’t think colours suit me and I’m not that confident wearing blue liners like you do! Terriblement fuchsia swatch is beautiful, I’m sure it suits you!

I own two out of five here and I’m glad someone appreciates the YSL cool toned picks because they are honestly so wearable! I would probably never wear something like Mac Heroine but YSL Fuchsia in Rage, yes please! I usually apply just a sheer layer.

Don’t beat yourself up for buying the YSL gloss – the packaging is enough to make anyone swoon haha! I’d love to see it on you though, because i’d imagine it would look far more chic on a brunette 🙂

Yes, any Barbie pink colors don’t suit me, despite being tall and blonde. Not overly long legged or hourglass shaped at the moment though.

I think you can totally pull of that pink gloss, paired with the right kind of eye look! I’m also not a pink girl, but from time to time I “force” myself and I’m often surprised as it looks better than expected. I also LOVE the YSL Gloss Volupté formula, except for the obnoxious fruity scent…

Il blush Chanel è stupendo, amo la linea Les Beiges! Anche i due rossetti YSL hanno colori bellissimi, in particolare amo il loro profumo…

I’ve actually been doing more discovering this past month than rediscovering – having had to wear more make up on a daily basis I realized I’m lacking in alot of things. So, I’ll add these to my list and maybe one day I’ll be rediscovering them myself.

Everything you’ve swatched is so beautiful, vibrant Carol! I love the look of the Kiko eyeshadow stick especially. I am obsessed with rose gold and that would make the perfect rose gold eye look. I’ve heard so many great things about the eyeshadow sticks and people compare them to the By Terry ones – so I don’t know why I don’t own any yet lol.
