Spring is coming. You know how I know that? I mean, without looking at the calendar… Well, for two main reasons:
- Last night I sent Mr. Page out on a gelato mission (for those who don’t know, gelato is Italian artisan ice cream – AKA the real deal). The thing is, I LUUURVE gelato, but only crave it in the spring and summer. As soon as the sky gets duller and the temperatures drop, my appetite for it goes into hibernation until leaves start growing back on trees.
- Recently, I’ve been feeling like wearing orange lipstick ALL. THEFREAKING. TIME. Again, even though I ADORE orange lipstick, I mainly wear it in the warmer months. But these days, whenever I check out a new collection, I’m instantly drawn to the brightest of bright shades.
And my latest MAC acquisition confirms that.
When I heard MAC were adding the Velvetease Lip Pencils to their permanent range, I just knew I had to have one to see if their formula would compare to my beloved NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Dragon Girl. The one I decided to pick up was Lover’s Lane, a bright orange – obviously, otherwise my little introduction would have been completely pointless…
The MAC Velvetease Lip Pencil in Lover’s Lane is a twist-up lip crayon that applies smoothly and evenly to the lips. It has a semi-matte finish and is very comfortable to wear. It’s not super long-lasting, but doesn’t look patchy as it wears off and is really easy to reapply.
Even though I like the formula of NARS Dragon Girl better (as it’s more matte and long-lasting, but just as comfortable on the lips), I still think MAC Lover’s Lane is a pretty good product and totally worth checking out, especially if you prefer twist-up pencils over traditional ones, which require sharpening.
What about you, guys, can you feel the spring coming?
