I don’t have too many complaints about my hair. Despite being very long, it’s pretty thick and healthy and I don’t have a single split end. There is one thing I’m not completely happy with, though: it is stick straight.
The only way for me to naturally have it at least slightly wavy is to not brush it at all and let it air dry when I wash it, but the next day it ends up looking a lot more bird’s nest than Victoria’s Secret Angel. LE SIGH. So, curling wands are actually my only real option to liven up the good ol’ mop.
Traditional curling irons don’t really do it for me, though, because the curls I get are often too artificial-looking for my taste. The wand I use these days (Diva Professional Styling Beach Curls Wand – find it similar here) was specifically designed to create messier and more natural-looking waves. Because of its peculiar shape, what I get are beautifully imperfect curls that are tighter in some places and looser in other places.
With Diva’s wand, those luscious beach waves you never see on the beach, but only on runways, are very easy to achieve, as you don’t have to be too precise. Actually, the messier it is the better it looks! You can curl bigger and smaller sections, change the direction you twist your hair around the wand, twist the sections more at the top and less at the bottom or viceversa, in order to achieve your desired level of messiness.
