YSL Les Sahariennes Sun-Kissed Blur Perfector in 6 Sienna in real life doesn’t look as dark as on Sephora
Les Sahariennes… Les Sahariennes…
I’m getting more and more convinced of the fact that product names influence my purchases and opinions about them.
Like, remember when I told you how much I love MAC All Fired Up (both the lipstick and the name), and how I think it’s the lipstick I’d wear if I were set to conquer the world? And I also feel similarly about Tarte Fiery… Or NARS Carthage.
For some reason, whenever I pronounce Carthage in my head, I always say it the French way. I don’t know why, I just think it sounds better like that (which is weird, since I usually like English better than French).
But anyways, my latest product name crush is YSL Les Sahariennes Sun-Kissed Blur Perfector, which instantly makes me daydream of golden sands and rolling dunes stretching beyond the horizon… Apparently, it looks like I have a thing for makeup products whose names evoke fire or places in North Africa. Who knew.
6 Sienna is the darkest shade, but the effect is still pretty subtle
The YSL Les Sahariennes Sun-Kissed Blur Perfector is a balm-to-powder formula that looks and feels completely weightless on the skin. I use my Real Techniques Retractable Kabuki Brush to apply it all over my face and neck, focusing on my cheeks, nose and forehead, and it gives me the most natural sun-kissed glow. It also helps minimize the look of pores and fine lines, which is always a plus, don’t you think? 😉
Have you ever tried the YSL Les Sahariennes Sun-Kissed Blur Perfector or anything similar? And do you think product names influence your purchases and the opinion you have on the products themselves?

April 19, 2016 at 10:18 pmI completely agree, products’ names definitely have an effect on my purchase! Like if I’m not sure about a product but the name is amazing then I’ll just get it. I have a NARS lipstick called Honolulu Honey. It was my first lipstick purchase from NARS, so the name just convinced me that I needed it in my life haha. This Sun-Kissed Blur Perfector looks beautiful on you. It has definitely given you that ‘glow from within’ as well. I have the Touche Éclat Blur Perfector from YSL and it sounds like they both do the same thing – except my one is colourless. But I love the formula, so I better purchase this one too lol.

April 20, 2016 at 2:11 pmI like the sound of Honolulu Honey!
Yeah, I’m pretty sure that this one is the ‘tinted’ version of the one you have, so I’m sure you’d love it! 😉

April 20, 2016 at 4:06 pmI really love that colour. I also love NARS. Hmm, a world conquering lip colour for me would probably be one of my berry Chanel Allure colours! <3 /Madison

April 20, 2016 at 4:15 pmThis really sounds similar to Indeed Lab Nanoblur, it blurs out pores, lines and gives a smooth over airbrushed look but with a small fraction of the YSL price. The effect is subtle but very lovely and natural on you and gah, the packaging is so luxe!

April 20, 2016 at 6:34 pmProduct names do indeed influence me and encourage me to buy stuff that I would probably, maybe, eventually stay away from. I haven’t figured out if I have a theme similar to yours, but I will pay attention to it in the future.

April 20, 2016 at 9:10 pmI tried this bronzer in a store a while ago and I was very surprised by its texture. It felt like a silky balm, I had never seen a bronzer like that!
And I definitely buy products for their names too. Especially specific shades, like anything that contains the word fig or chestnut…

April 21, 2016 at 2:06 pmI think that product names definietly influence my purchases!! And it works both ways, too – if a product name is unappealing I’ll likely think twice before going for it. It’s a silly thing, but it’s totally true! Les Sahariennes is a gorgeous product name. 😉 <3

April 21, 2016 at 11:18 pmGreat product names are definitely a plus, but for me, I’m such a sucker for the packaging. I’ve come very close to buying something completely unnecessary (and without really knowing what it is) because the packaging is so gorgeous whether it be beauty or even food haha.
I haven’t tried this product (or anything like it I don’t think) but it looks great on you – it really does give a sun-kissed glow!

April 22, 2016 at 8:17 amHaha the name is a mouthful but whoever comes up with them are geniuses too! Names do sway my final decisions to buy something or not sometimes! You look great and your skin is glowing!
