Formula X Prime Base Coat, Mavala Mavadry, Essence The Gel Nail Polish Top Coat
The Fantastic Finds series features products that are meant to help prevent, or fight, those little beauty annoyances that sooner or later occur to most of us. You know, like, pesky zits, cracked lips, sun spots, straw-like hair, chipped nail polish… The list is endless.
What’s even more annoying than these annoyances themselves is the fact that the chances of them occurring are usually directly proportional to the importance of what we have planned for the day.
It’s an unwritten cosmic law.
But recently, I’ve found three products so effective they defy the cosmic laws and universal order of things, and today I’m here to share them with you.
Mavala Mavadry Top Coat (£10 on Look Fantastic)
You know that cheesy saying that goes something like: “A woman is only helpless while she’s waiting for her nail polish to dry”? Well, if you want to reduce your helplessness to the bare minimum, you need the Mavala Mavadry top coat in your life.
3-4 minutes and you’ll be good to go conquer the world!
Essence The Gel Nail Polish Top Coat ($3.99 on Ulta)
If you don’t mind waiting a little longer for your nail polish to dry (about 15 minutes in total), then it’s the Essence The Gel Nail Polish Top Coat you should check out. It’s cheap as chips and makes your manicure last SO. MUCH. LONGER.
Seriously, if you wear nail polish, you need this, like, yesterday.
Formula X Prime Base Coat ($10.50 on Sephora)
I’ve always relied on top coats to extend the longevity of my nail polish, but I’ve recently realized that the Formula X Prime Base Coat lends a very welcome hand in that department, too, by creating the perfect sticky base for your polish to adhere to.
Pair it with the Essence top coat and you’ll get an everlasting manicure.
Well, almost. 😉

September 6, 2016 at 1:54 amMy favorite top coat is the Sally Hansen Insta Dry, it’s not as thick as some other fast dry top coats (like Seche, I hated that one) and it really makes my mani dry within 5 minutes!

September 6, 2016 at 7:30 amI need the Essence Gel Nail Polish Top Coat! I need it!!!!! I am a fan of Essence and how could I miss this? I left my nails without nail polish for almost a month, I wanted to give them some time to heal and breath and it would be the perfect product when I start painting my nails again with plum/berry fall shades!

September 6, 2016 at 4:22 pmI am about to run out of my Seche Vite so I’ll be picking up the Essence Top coat to try! Essence surprisingly has great nail products, I love the quick dry drops and the nail polish too.

September 7, 2016 at 12:04 pmI would like the Essence Top coat! I’m pretty patient, anything to keep my nail polish chip proof is perfectly A-ok in my book!

September 7, 2016 at 8:18 pmI haven’t tried any Essence nail products. I’ll have to look for that top coat next time I’m at the store. My nail polish is always chipping.

September 8, 2016 at 9:14 amI have an essence gel top coat too but the packaging looks a bit different (pr does it, I can’t remember now); but I love it! I usually use a base coat that has vitamins or something to strengthen the nails because my nails are really brittle after painting them over and over again 🙁

September 8, 2016 at 5:42 pmI would love to try the base coat. My nail polish always seem to come off too fast.

September 9, 2016 at 2:40 pmThe Top Coat by Mavala sounds very appealing! It can be so frustrating waiting for nails to dry and so anything that speeds up the process is good in my book 😉

September 9, 2016 at 7:55 pmI love the Mavala Mavadry Top Coat as well, the Essence top coat sounds lovely, but I’m not sure about X Formula though: I’ve been quite disappointed by the brand in the past!

September 11, 2016 at 1:33 pmI’m so glad I’m not the only one that has annoying beauty problems happen to me, just when I have something planned! Ever since I saw Patrick Starrrs’ collaboration with Formula X, I’ve really wanted to try their products. My favourite base and top coat at the moment is from Nails inc. But I definitely feel like I need to try out some of your recommendations, as my nails still chip after maybe a week.xx

September 18, 2016 at 11:40 amI often times forget to add a top coat once I’m done adding colour onto my nails. In past I had a bad experience with any top coat, they tend to dry 100 years later. I’m going to haunt for these products and try it out. Thank you for sharing.
