L-R: MADINA Exact Color Lipstick, Collistar Extraordinary Duo Lipstick in 9 Impulsive, Lancôme Juicy Shaker in 352 Wonder Melon
If you follow me on Makeup and Beauty Blog, you may remember that a few weeks ago I wrote a post where I said that, to a certain extent, I’m a makeup collector.
You may also remember that I’m not the type of collector who just keeps products on display, since I like to use everything I have, but more often than not, I buy new things just because I want to add them to my collection.
Usually that happens because I want to have at least one product from a certain brand, or because my collection is lacking a specific shade, or because I like the look of a product…
Case in point: I didn’t need any of the three products I’m sharing with you today, but with their good looks they were able to sneak their way into my shopping basket.
Let’s have a closer look, shall we?
Lancôme Juicy Shaker in 352 Wonder Melon
The Lancôme Juicy Shaker in 352 Wonder Melon is super cute and smells like melon (or maybe watermelon?)
The Lancôme Juicy Shakers have a cushion applicator
I believe the Lancôme Juicy Shaker in 352 Wonder Melon is one of the most pigmented in the range, but is still pretty sheer. Its pinky coral tint shows up nicely on my lips because they have no pigmentation
If you’re a beauty lover (and I’m assuming you are, or else… what are you doing here?), you’ve most likely already heard of the Lancôme Juicy Shakers multiple times. In the very unlikely case you haven’t, these pretty miniature shakers contain a bi-phase oil that you need to shake, shake, shake, before applying.
Now, if you’re looking for a long-lasting, pigmented lip gloss, just save your money, as these definitely aren’t. The feeling and longevity on the lips reminds me of those rollerball lip glosses that were oh-so-popular in the 90’s (anyone remembers those?). I’d say the Lancôme Juicy Shaker in 352 Wonder Melon lasts about one hour on me without eating or drinking.
So you’re basically just paying for the cutest, most original packaging and a new makeup experience – which is fine by me, but I understand it may not be everyone’s cup of tea.
MADINA Exact Color Lipstick
Unfortunately the MADINA Exact Color Lipstick is only available in Italy
With its pretty pink tint the MADINA Exact Color Lipstick is perfect for no-makeup makeup days
OK, I basically got the MADINA Exact Color Lipstick just because it looked and smelled like gummy candy, but it turns out that I’m getting a lot of use out of it. It’s one of those lipsticks that are supposed to react with your skin’s pH level to give your lips a custom pink tint.
Since my lips have zero pigmentation, I love to use it when I’m not wearing regular lipstick to make my lips look less corpse-like (but if your lips are very pigmented, it may not show up on you).
Collistar Extraordinary Duo Lipstick in 9 Impulsive
Unfortunately the orange part of the Collistar Extraordinary Duo Lipstick in 9 Impulsive is way sheerer than the fuchsia one
Out of the three, the Collistar Extraordinary Duo Lipstick in 9 Impulsive is definitely the least wearable one. I got it because it looked so fun and different, but I don’t think I’m ever going to use it (so I probably should’ve skipped it).
There are other color combinations in the range that are definitely more wearable, though. So if you like the idea of ombré lips, I definitely recommend checking those out (10 Divine, for example, features two shades of red).
Do you ever buy makeup products just because they look pretty? If you do, what was the last one you got?
