Dr. Organic Shampoo Review

Affordable & Effective: Dr. Organic Shampoo

I might be totally wrong, but I think no shampoo will ever work wonders on your hair. It stays on way too little to have any real nourishing, restoring or shine-boosting effects. In my opinion, the main quality a shampoo has to have is being gentle. Well, effective and gentle: it has to leave the hair feeling clean without stripping it of its natural moisture and shine.

Dr. Organic shampoo does that amazingly well. It is wisely formulated to cleanse while respecting the natural beauty of your hair. It comes in many different versions named after the most relevant ingredient (Argan Oil, Manuka Honey, Olive Oil, Royal Jelly, Coconut Oil, Pomegranate, etc.) and so far I’ve liked all those I’ve tried. To be honest, I don’t think they differ much, as the formulations are very similar to one another and the ‘relevant’ ingredient is usually listed towards the end (which means there’s very little of it).

At the moment, I’m using the Lavender version, which contains:

Aloe barbadensis leaf juice, Aqua, Sodium lauryl sarcosinate, Sodium cocoamphoacetate, Cocamidopropyl betaine, Palmitamidopropyltrimonium chloride, Coco-glucoside, Glyceryl oleate, Sorbitan sesquicaprylate, Sodium hydroxymethylglycinate, Caprylyl/capryl glucoside, Lavandula angustifolia (Lavender) oil, Linalool, Citric acid.

Most of these are good ingredients, but while researching for this post I found out there’s quite a lot of controversy around the preservative called Sodium hydroxymethylglycinate: it seems like it’s being demonized the same way as parabens were. I personally never know what to think about these things, so if there are any real experts among you, please share your opinion in the comments.

What do you look for in a shampoo? Do you have any personal favorites to recommend? I’m very interested!

Gentle and effective pretty much sums up what I am looking for. I have an oily scalp, but my hair is brittle already, so if the shampoo is too stripping or drying, it will start breaking around ears length.

I always struggle to find a good shampoo. Tresemme and Elseve have their keratin shampoos that I absolutely love. I used a shampoo which is paraben free and my hair just messed up so what I learnt is some of these ingredients are important for healthy looking hair.

I’m sensitive to lavender oil in skincare, but in a shampoo it might be okay, not sure…

lightweight shampoo is definitely a good quality one especially if it doesn’t strip the hair’s natural moisture

What I look for in a shampoo is basically the same as you: something that cleans my hair well without drying it out. My hair gets oily fast but the lengths are dry.
I try to avoid shampoos that contain SLS because I find it very stripping, and I prefer the ones that used coconut based cleansing agents. I also prefer to avoid silicones, but I find it really difficult… I discovered a brand of semi-natural product called Attitude (they say their fromulations are “worry-free” meaning that they avoid using ingredients that are known or suspected to be damaging) and I really love their volumizing shampoo. It leaves my hair super clean but soft and healthy.

i love Dr Organic. I’m currently using their eye mask gel and it’s perfect both night and in the morning as it sinks in instantly. I’m finishing up my serum now and will start with their Snail anti-aging serum 🙂

These definitely sound worth a try, it’s so important to me that a shampoo is gently because my hair is so dry and course anyway!
The scents sound just lovely too, thanks for sharing

I’ve tried this one before but it didn’t suit me much. The TBS Ginger shampoo worked better on me 🙂
