If Maybelline Color Tattoo in Creamy Beige were a piece of clothing, it would be a pair of jeans. Not because of a color resemblance, but because jeans are one of those versatile items that can be either dressed up or dressed down and will (almost) always be appropriate. Pair them with flats and a blouse for an office look, a T-shirt and sneakers to go grocery shopping or an off-shoulder top and pumps to hit the clubs.
You can do exactly the same with Creamy Beige, a long-lasting cream eyeshadow by Maybelline. Wear it on its own as a wash of color to achieve the ever-so-chic no-makeup makeup, add green, blue or purple eyeliner in the waterline for an extra oomph, pair it with a bright lipstick to look put together, but not overdone.
I usually apply it all over the lid and slightly above the crease with a fluffy brush, but it’s so blendable and easy to work with that you can get away with just using your finger. Once it sets, it won’t budge all day (I always use a primer though, just as with any other eyeshadow).
It’s perfect for when you’re lazy and/or in a rush, not only because it takes 10 seconds to apply, but also because you don’t really need to think about what to pair it with… Anything will look great! I think any girl that wears makeup should have this eyeshadow in her collection.
In the collage above, you can see it swatched next to the Color Tattoo in Permanent Taupe (Tough As Taupe in certain countries), paired with Maybelline SuperStay 14HR Lipstick in Infinitely Fuchsia (or Fuchsia Forever in certain countries – as a side note, I absolutely love this lipstick!), and with Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Deep End.
What is the most versatile eyeshadow you own? Let me know in the comments!

August 27, 2015 at 9:35 amI picked mine up when I was in the States. It’s very similar to MAC’s Paint Pot in Groundwork, if by any chance you already have that…

August 27, 2015 at 10:14 pmI don’t always like the shimmery Color Tattoos, but the matte ones have better texture I think. I have Permanent Taupe (Tough as Taupe here) and it works really well for a neutral eye.

August 28, 2015 at 9:11 amI also have one in blue and one in purple and I think they are only good as a base, they’re not even enough to be used on their own. But the neutrals are great!

August 28, 2015 at 9:32 amI have to admit I don’t like the Color Tattoos normally. I think it’s because they are long lasting I never seem to be able to blend them properly before they are stuck?! 🙂 But I’ve only owned the Taupe one and that is way too dark for me so perhaps I should give it one more try with this one 🙂

August 28, 2015 at 5:25 pmI always apply mine with a blending brush, so that the color is never too intense and blends out nicely.
