April 2017: Current Crushes & It’s My 31st Birthday!

31 years ago, 4 days after the Chernobyl disaster, while radios were playing Prince’s Kiss 24/7 and Baby and Johnny were most likely getting ready to have the time of their lives, mini-me decided to come into this world.

Well, actually, I didn’t really decide, as my mom had to have an emergency c-section one month before the due date.

And, weighing 3.6 kilos (7 lb. 15 oz.), I wasn’t exactly mini.

But yeah, everything went great, and after a couple exchange transfusions I was as good as new! 😉

I don’t really like saying too many cliché things, so I usually refrain from commenting on how incredibly fast time goes by, but on my birthday I feel like I’m entitled to that, right?

Oh man, it feels like yesterday I was writing my “April 2016: Current Crushes and It’s My 30th Birthday” post!

I think the reason time seems to go by faster when you’re an adult is that you value time more and have a true understanding of what time really is – that is, the most precious thing you have in life.

The second most precious thing I have in life are my beauty products (LOL!), so let’s have a look at my April favorites, shall we?

Like you probably can imagine, my most favorite favorites are Chanel summer releases. I like all the products I’ve tried, but if I have to pick just one… Well, I can’t. I have to pick at least two: the mesmerizingly beautiful Les Beiges Healthy Glow Luminous Colour in shade Medium and the mysteriously intriguing Le Vernis Longwear Nail Colour in 558 Sargasso.

In order to be able to try all the new summer makeup, this month I’ve been using the Clarins Liquid Bronze Self Tanning Lotion tons. It turns me from zombie to beach babe in an instant… Well, 2-3 days more like! It’s a lovely gradual tanner for the face that I especially recommend to those who have fair to light skin tones.

Like I’ve mentioned a few times before, my eye area reacts to the wrong creams with some pretty annoying dry patches, so I’m always wary of trying a new one. After using the First Aid Beauty Eye Duty Triple Remedy AM Gel Cream for over a month I’m happy to report that I didn’t get any allergic reactions. It’s fragrance-free, nicely hydrating and works great under makeup. If you’re looking for a good eye cream that doesn’t break the bank, definitely give this one a go.

I’m on my second tube of Pixi Glow Mud Mask (which is part of my anti-blemish arsenal) and I’ve realized that, even though it’s my favorite clay mask, I’ve never given it the monthly favorite treatment. I love that it leaves the skin deeply cleansed without drying it out one bit. Plus, it’s really easy to remove and comes in a practical squeezy tube.  And it’s reasonably priced, so it basically has everything I want in a face mask!

What have you been loving this month?

Happy birthday, my (almost) birthday twin!!!!! 🙂
Chernobyl kid here too! Sounds horrible but that’s the truth. We lived only 100km away from the epicenter so when it all came up to the surface, we moved 280km away. Were you getting special treatment as a kid or getting your radiation levels checked, girl? It might sound horrible but yeah, it was the reality. Anyway, drama aside 🙂
I need Pixi Glow Mud Mask in my beauty arsenal ASAP. Haven’t tried Clarins self-tan but I feel like I will very soon 🙂

Thank you, Nadia! Happy almost-birthday! 🙂
I didn’t get any special treatments/checks as a kid, because I guess radiation levels were never that bad here in Italy. I can’t even imagine how terrible it must’ve been for those like you living so close to the epicenter.

Happy, happy birthday, my favorite Italian blogger! I was already in school when you were born, but I remember these days quite well. I was so annoyed because we werent allowed to play outside in the rain…
The pixi mask I like and the self tanning lotion is a staple in my summer skincare, but I haven’t made the switch quite yet. It was too cold the last weeks, I am still in early spring mode.

Thank you, Anne! Here spring was really summer-like until about 10 days ago when it got a lot colder, especially in the morning. But once I get my glow on, I can’t give it up! 😉

Happy Birthday! I love the Pixi Glow Mud Cleanser (review coming really soon on my blog!) so the Glow Mud Mask really speaks to me! I also really need to check out the new Chanel Summer releases (I still haven’t purchased the Chanel Les Beiges Cushion foundation, but I believe I will as I’ve seen a lot of people with normal to dry skins loving it lately)!

Tanti auguri di buon compleanno, non li dimostri proprio 31 anni (un motivo in più per prendere ispirazione dalla tua skincare routine eheh). Un bacione
