Dior Colour Gradation 4-Colour Eyeshadow Palette Couture Nuance in 002 Coral Gradation ($63) and Dior Rouge Gradient Lip Shadow Duo in 755 Red ($31)
OK, I’ll admit it: I could stare at my Colour Gradation Eyeshadow Palette from Dior’s spring 2017 makeup collection for hours on end.
Like, the other day, when Mr. Page found me at my desk in deep contemplation of this very insignificant (to him) inanimate object and asked me what on earth I was doing, he literally made me jump.
I swear, there’s something so visually pleasing in this set of perfectly gradating shades that it’s almost hypnotizing.
The Dior Colour Gradation 4-Colour Eyeshadow Palette Couture Nuance in 002 Coral Gradation in all of its mesmerizing glory
No matter how you combine them, these shades work amazingly well together. Most of the time I use the brown along the lashline and one of the three lighter shades on the lid, but you can easily use all four together to achieve a beautiful color gradation like the one I created today. I love, love, LOVE how these shadows practically blend themselves.
Plus, they have a gorgeous satin finish, minimal fallout, and exceptional staying power.
Today I’m wearing the Dior Colour Gradation 4-Colour Eyeshadow Palette Couture Nuance in 002 Coral Gradation on my eyes, the Dior Rouge Gradient Lip Shadow Duo in 755 Red on my lips, and the YSL Baby Doll Kiss & Blush Duo Stick in 1 From Marrakesh to Paris on my cheeks
The Dior Rouge Gradient in 755 Red is one of the three Lip Shadow Duos from the Colour Gradation Spring 2017 Makeup collection
Ombré lips are one of the big makeup trends for spring 2017, but I have to say that I’m not really a fan. Most of the time it either looks like your lipstick rubbed off the inner part of the lips or like you used too dark a liner – 90’s style.
But I also have to say that I love Dior’s take on the trend.
The ombré look I get with my Dior Rouge Gradient Lip Shadow Duo in 755 Red is very subtle. I usually apply the red all over the lips and then dab a bit of pink in the center, so that the contrast between the two shades is not too stark but just makes the color multidimensional.
I’m also a big fan of the lightweight powdery matte formula. It looks very modern and fresh – perfect for the spring, if you ask me.
Just bear in mind that you’ll need to have well nourished, freshly exfoliated lips, as there’s no emollience in the formula, only color. It really feels like you’re wearing nothing on the lips.
I’m in love with my color gradation look!

I think I haven’t been this excited about a seasonal release since the Chanel Le Rouge Collection N°1 for Fall 2016 – and you know how much I loved that one! I’m really tempted to get every single piece from the Dior Colour Gradation collection, but in the meantime I’ll just go stare at my mesmerizing palette! 😉

January 27, 2017 at 4:57 pmI just saw the eyeshadow palette making an appearance on one of my favourite blogs yesterday and now I see it here. Usually I shy away from shades like these but I am so tempted to purchase this palette. Will have to be after April though, I’m on a much needed spending ban.

January 28, 2017 at 6:30 pmThat palette is BEAUTIFUL. So spring-like. I’m in need of a little colour-winter russets and browns are beautiful, but this is so light and fresh!

January 29, 2017 at 11:04 amOh wow I can definitely see why you can’t stop staring it. It really is a beautiful palette. The lipstick looks interesting too. I’m not too big on ombre lips either, but you’re right, this is very subtle.

January 29, 2017 at 2:22 pmOh my goodness, I can completely understand why you’d be admiring this palette, it’s GORGEOUS! They sound amazing too, mininal fallout and staying power is all I ask for in an eyeshadow – but I’d expect nothing less from Dior. Your make-up looks stunning and the shades suit you so much Carol. I’ve never heard of their Lip Shadow Duos, is it a seasonal collection thing? All I know is that I want to try them, the packaging is really unique. Also your swatches look incredable and so pigmented!!xx

January 29, 2017 at 2:48 pmYes, the Lip Shadow Duos are just part of the spring collection at the moment. But who knows, they might add something similar to their permanent range in the future!
