February 2017: Current Crushes & A Little Life Update

So, I’m back working full-time on Monday after a pretty long hiatus.

I’m excited, but at the same time a little concerned about the future of this blog. Although I’m 100% determined to keep Carol in a Page up and running, as of now I don’t exactly know how much time I’ll be able to allocate to blog work. I guess I’ll just need to adjust to my new schedule and optimize my free time (any tips on how to manage a blog while having a full-time job without losing your sanity are totally welcome).

Moving on to my monthly favorites… After trying a truckload of new things in January, February was a quieter month beauty-wise. Also the abrupt end of the month kinda took me by surprise. After 31 Februaries on this planet, you would think that I’ve learned by now that it’s the shortest month of the year, but apparently I haven’t. I mean, I know that it’s 28/29-day long, but the end of it always takes me by surprise.

Like the marketing geniuses at Glossier would say: “Skin First, Makeup Second”, so let me start by talking about my favorite skincare product of the month, which is the famous Pixi Glow Mud Cleanser. While I’ve loved all the clay cleansers I’ve tried so far, the Pixi wins for me because it’s just as good as the others, despite being only a fraction of the price.

If you’ve read my previous post, then you’ll know that I was really impressed with the new Lancôme Matte Shaker Liquid Lipstick. I love that it’s super easy to apply and that it’s long-lasting, but also comfortable on the lips. The shade I have (378 Pink Power) is really bright and intense, so whenever I didn’t want such a statement lip, I mostly used the incredible Dior Addict Lip Glow in 006 Berry. Even though it’s a sheer lip balm, it packs enough pigment to bring my corpse lips to life. Plus, it’s seriously moisturizing!

Lately, I’ve been using cool tones on the eyes more than ever and my favorite recent discovery is the Clarins Ombre Iridescente Cream-to-Powder Eyeshadow in 04 Silver Ivory, a light champagne-y, silvery, taupe that I like to casually buff all over the lids for a bit of subtle luminosity.

That’s all, folks, but before I go, I want to thank each and everyone of you for taking time out of your day to read all my makeup musings and random ramblings. I really, REALLY appreciate it! 🙂

Next week I’ll be traveling to Rome and Germany, but I’m hoping to publish at least one post. Make sure you follow me on social media so that you never miss an update!

Definitely need to try the Pixi Glow Mud Cleanser after reading this. I might also try another shade from the Dior Lip Glow range and the 006 Berry sounds gorgeous! Great favourites!

That cleanser is great, but how sensitive is your skin? If you’re super, SUPER sensitive, maybe it’s not for you?

Yeah, I figured it would be something like that, LOL! But not having any kids, I hope I’ll get at least SOME sleep! 😉
      Next summer, for sure! 😀

I have a full time job and blogging is a hard work but I love it so much! I always write 2-3 posts in the weekend (sometimes more) so I have my posts ready for the following week. I think it’s the best tip I can give you. Hope you have an amazing time traveling Carol! xx

Pixi has been that brand that I have been discovering in the last month. So far I’m really impressed with it!

I’ve heard so many good things about the Brand Pixi and that Lancome lippie, but haven’t tried anything from them yet. It was so nice catching up with your content. 🙂

    Hi Carol,
I have a full-time job too and have been managing ok with the blog so far (although I have to admit, it”s easier when I’m off like the past two weeks). What I do is plan the posts on Thursday night and write on Sundays. I also dedicate one hour a day for taking pictures. Good luck!
The Mud cleanser sounds really good, think i should give it a try!
    Enjoy travelling!

Blogging and full-time job is hard, try to have a few ready posts before the new week starts, it takes the stress away. It will take a while to get used to the routine 🙂 Also congratulations on the job! Travelling to Rome and Germany? How cool, have a great time 🙂

You can totally do blogging and working full time! I write a lot of my posts at the weekend or if I’m on call and all is quiet in the veterinary world! Scheduling is definitely your friend. I love your blog, I hope you still really enjoy writing it and it doesn’t become a stress for you when working full time-but believe me, you can do it! Xxx

Good luck returning to work and on your travels!

I’ve been seeing Pixi around a lot lately. I haven’t tried much of their stuff though. I keep meaning to pick up a few items to try out. I’ll have to make note of it. 🙂
