#LipstickWeek, Part 1 of 3: Giorgio Armani Lip Magnet in 507 Garçonne ($38)
Apparently magnetic cosmetics are a thing right now. Or, at least, I think they’re becoming a thing.
…the Giorgio Armani Lip Magnets!!!
*ROUND OF APPLAUSE*
Actually, these new Armani liquid lipsticks are not really magnetic, but are supposed to “bind with the lips like a magnet”… Well, that’s just a technicality – I definitely see a trend here! Don’t you think?
Have you noticed how beauty brands always launch similar things all at the same time? The sane explanation is probably that when the big ingredient/product manufacturers come up with something new, they then sell it to all the brands, but my crazy brain thinks it more fun to fantasize about intrigue and industrial espionage.
Anyways, I guess you’re not here to hear my mental gibberish, so let’s focus on the new Giorgio Armani Lip Magnet in 507 Garçonne.
Wearing the Giorgio Armani Lip Magnet in 507 Garçonne on my lips and the NARS Long Hot Summer Eyeshadow Palette on my eyes
507 Garçonne is a muted plummy rose that I find the perfect daytime color for the fall and winter, especially if you only wear one layer. If you want it a little darker and more intense, you just need to add a second layer, so it’s almost like having two products in one!
Formula-wise, my Giorgio Armani Lip Magnet is also very nice. It’s a liquid lipstick that doesn’t dry down completely, but almost – I’d say 95% (if I kiss the back of my hand, it transfers just ever so slightly, while it doesn’t to my cup). This means it’s very long-lasting, but still really comfortable to wear.
The texture is super thin, which is a good thing, because you forget you’re even wearing it, but at the same time that means that it doesn’t feel moisturizing (just like most liquid lipsticks don’t). If you have dry lips, you should have a look at the Chanel Rouges Allure Ink, which have a slightly more emollient feel (but, as a trade-off, don’t last as long).
The Giorgio Armani Lip Magnet point-tip applicator does a great job of distributing the product evenly across the lips
At $38, the Giorgio Armani Lip Magnets are definitely a splurge, but maybe you can include one in your letter to Santa? I guarantee you it’ll make you one very happy girl on Christmas morning! Personally, I’ve been grinning from ear to ear since it landed on my doorstep! 😉
Ahhh, the power of lipstick…
