Time for some October favorites!
I’m learning how to use Adobe Illustrator…
So, only a couple more days till Halloween! Are you doing anything special?
I’m not, but, you know, Halloween is not a very big deal here in Italy. I mean, there are a few themed parties here and there, but it’s nothing like what I experienced while I was living in the States (Berkeley, CA, to be precise).
Back in 2007, while I was an exchange student at Cal (ahhh, good times!), on the weekend before Halloween, a couple of friends and I drove down to Santa Barbara to join our UCSB friends for the crazy Isla Vista celebrations. Then on October 31, I strolled down to Mariposa Avenue in Berkeley to check out the decorations, before spending the rest of the evening at home to meet the trick-or-treaters… Two completely different experiences, but both very enjoyable!
OK – nostalgia moment over. Without any further ado, let’s talk about the best beauty products I’ve (re)discovered this month!
Lancôme L’Absolu Rouge Matte Lipstick in 189 Isabella ($32)
189 Isabella is one of the new L’Absolu Rouge lipsticks that were reformulated by the divine Lisa Eldridge. If you’re looking for a classic Hollywood red with a satin-matte finish and a moisturizing feel, you should seriously consider this one. See it in action in my full review!
Givenchy Le Rouge Lipstick in 212 Heroic Pink ($36)
A stunning purple berry in a luxuriously creamy, superbly pigmented formula. If you’ve read my review, then you’ll know that I’m completely and utterly in love with the Givenchy Le Rouge Lipstick in 212 Heroic Pink!
Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme Mask ($58)
I’ve literally been obsessed with the Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme Mask since I talked about it a couple of weeks ago. I love everything about it: its pumpkin-purée consistency, its deliciously spicy scent, and, above all, the baby skin it gives me in just a matter of minutes!
Essie Gel Couture Nail Color in Bubbles Only ($11.50)
The Essie Gel Couture Nail Color in Bubbles Only is a very long-lasting deep red with a touch of brown… Need I say more? Well, if you think I do, you may check out my full review here.
Rimmel Magnif’Eyes Mono Eyeshadow in 002 Millionaire ($7)
If you’re a bold lipstick lover and just go for a simple wash of color on the eyes 9 times out of 10, you need the Rimmel Magnif’Eyes Mono Eyeshadow in 002 Millionaire in your life. It gives your lids the prettiest sheen that will look good with any lipstick, and it’s affordable. See it in action here!

October 28, 2016 at 12:55 pmI’m so excited to be in Scotland for Halloween as it isn’t a big deal in France either! The Rimmel Magnif’Eyes Mono eyeshadow in 002 Millionaire sounds familiar to me, is it the one Pixiwoo mentioned in one of their videos? It looks gorgeous and sounds right up my street as I always wear ‘a simple wash of colour’ on my eyes!

October 28, 2016 at 1:25 pmYour past Halloween celebrations sound like so much fun! I adore the Essie polish, such a gorgeous colour for this time of year. It’s pretty much a colour-match for the Givenchy shade too! 🙂

October 28, 2016 at 10:14 pmI always enjoy reading through your lovely picks as you seem to pick the same sort of shades I personally love too. The Givenchy Le Rouge Lipstick in 212 Heroic Pink is simply beautiful, a brand I haven’t looked into in a long while but must re-visit.
Gorgeous picks!

October 29, 2016 at 11:49 amI Will, for the first time in years, join a Halloween party. And to throw it back completely I will do that with two of my oldest childhood friends.
And the pumpkin mask is sitting in my stash, waiting to be used. I just want to get a little mire use out of my The Body Shop ones before I open a new one…

October 30, 2016 at 6:09 amHuge, HUGE props to the Essie nail polish and the PTR pumpkin enzyme mask! My face feels so smooth after using that mask. Love that Givenchy lippie, you look so amazing in it. Maybe time to add it to my wishlist!

October 30, 2016 at 10:06 amWow Carol, I would love to get my hands on the Essie polish! I’ve heard wonderful things about the PTR Pumpkin Mask. I would just be afraid to eat it, lol. I’ve heard that USCB is notorious for the partying. UC Davis is pretty rowdy too! (every April, there is this huge campus event/open house called Picnic Day, and for the students it’s time for them to start drinking in the morning till sun goes down!) I was eating in Downtown Davis last night with Cecilio’s family and there were a lot of people walking around dressing in their costumes. Downtown is pretty close to the campus too and is really easy to access.
