Some of my favorite red beauty products
It’s undeniable that red is THE color of Christmas.
But I wonder, is that because Santa’s uniform is red?
Or is Santa’s uniform red because red is the color of Christmas?
You know, like – which came first, the chicken or the egg?
Anyways, deep existential questions aside, I’ve just realized we’re less than three (THREE!) days away from Christmas and the blog is seriously lacking in festive posts, so I thought I’d remedy that by putting together a little edit of beauty products in the most festive of hues – RED!
I hope you enjoy it! 🙂
Eyeshadow: Chanel Les 4 Ombres Eyeshadow Quad in 268 Candeur Et Expérience & NABLA Fahrehnheit
If you read my review of the Chanel Le Rouge Collection N°1 for fall 2016, maybe you’ll remember how much I love the Les 4 Ombres Eyeshadow Quad in 268 Candeur Et Expérience. The red shadow is definitely the most peculiar shade in the palette and it might scare some people off, but I assure you that on the lids it blends in really nicely with the browns and doesn’t look extreme at all (here you may see a look I created with this palette).
Unfortunately the quad is sold out in many countries, but if you’re mainly interested in the red shade, you may wanna check out Fahrenheit from NABLA (find out more about NABLA and see Fahrenheit’s swatch here). It’s more intense and cool than Chanel’s red, but if you blend it out well and use it in combination with brown, you’ll get a similar effect.
Alternatively, I think Make Up For Ever has a few different matte reds in the Artist Shadow range.
Lipstick: KIKO Velvet Passion Matte Lipstick in 312 Cherry
As you probably know if you’re a regular reader, there are countless shades I love wearing on the lips, but red is
probably the most represented color in my lipstick collection, and choosing a favorite would be impossible. Today I’ve decided to share with you the KIKO Velvet Passion Matte Lipstick in 312 Cherry, because it’s a pretty great lipstick but I haven’t really mentioned it anymore after reviewing it back in the spring.
It’s a beautifully bright red (perfect for the Holidays, if you ask me) that is pretty long-lasting and comfortable on the lips. Check out my full review if you want to see it in action.
Nail Polish: Chanel Longwear Nail Colour in 08 Pirate
If you read my previous post, then you’ll know that the Chanel Longwear Nail Colours are one of my two favorite nail polish ranges of all time. To get into the Holiday mood, yesterday I applied shade 08 Pirate, a deep, elegant red.
Makeup Brush: Neve Cosmetics Crimson Diffuser Brush
I mainly use the Crimson Diffuser duo fiber brush from Neve Cosmetics to blend out cream blushes and bronzers, but it’s also great to apply powders that are a little too pigmented, since it gives them a toned down look. It’s really soft and doesn’t shed – big thumbs-up!
Skincare: First Aid Beauty Skin Rescue Oil-Free Mattifying Gel & SEPHORA Pomegranate Eye Mask
If you have oily skin and enlarged pores, you should definitely check out the First Aid Beauty Skin Rescue Oil-Free Mattifying Gel. Since it hydrates the skin while at the same time making it completely matte and reducing the look of pores, it makes an excellent base for makeup.
I think the SEPHORA Pomegranate Eye Mask is a nice little product to use at this time of the year. You can either use it before a party or special night, since it temporarily minimizes the look of fine lines, or after a long night out, since it helps soothe tired eyes.
Hair: ISA Professional Mirror Titanium Flat Iron
I just got the ISA Professional Mirror Titanium Flat Iron, so I can’t really tell you much about it, but it has such a beautiful metallic red finish that I couldn’t not mention it in this post. I’ll definitely let you know how it performs in the next few weeks.
That’s all, folks! Are you ready for Christmas? How are you going to celebrate (if you do at all)? And what are your favorite red beauty products?

December 24, 2016 at 9:25 amI thought about this before too, why red is the colour of christmas, I even googled it one day when I was searching for christmas traditions for every country. I didn’t find an answer but I cannot think of any other colour that represents christmas better than red! That Kiko lipstick is gorgeous, I want it!! x

December 24, 2016 at 11:18 amThe Chanel polish is to die for! We are having Christmas Eve dinner tonight, and I think instead of the typical bright red, I’ll go with wearing Too Faced Melted Chocolate Cherries, which is a darker, vampier shade 😀
