Here I am with a new installment of Show a Little Lovin’… In case you didn’t read January’s post, this year I’ve decided to go through my stash at the beginning of each month and select a few ‘forgotten’ products I’ll then have to use as much as I can. Let’s have a look at February’s picks, shall we?
MAC Retro Matte Lipstick – All Fired Up
Listen up, y’all, if you ever happen to be set to conquer the world, this is the lipstick you should wear. Why, you ask me? Well, first of all, because of its name. I mean… All Fired Up! Don’t you already feel your mood and energy boosting?! But if that doesn’t do it for you, just look at the shade! I’m sure this bright warm-toned fuchsia won’t fail to pump you up. And last, but certainly not least, the true matte finish comes with the best staying power you could ever want from a non-liquid lipstick.
Laura Mercier Crème Eye Liner – Canard
Let me tell you, if you’re a brown-eyed brunette and have never worn teal eyeliner, you’ve been totally missing out, GURL! I’ve had this gorgeous cream liner from Laura Mercier for almost 3 years now and I have a feeling I should toss it soon (*insert crying emoji*), so I want to play with it as much as I can before parting from it for good. I did use it here recently with no adverse reaction, but I don’t know… I think we should always be extra careful when it comes to the eye area. Has any of you ever used a cream/gel liner for 3+ years?
Estée Lauder Pure Color Envy Lipstick – Rebellious Rose
I’ve always thought that life was too short to wear neutral colors on the lips (#brightsforlife), but this beautiful Estée Lauder lipstick is kinda making me change my mind. To give my pout the prettiest rosy color and long-lasting moisture, I usually apply as thin a layer as I can and work it in with my finger. I highly recommend trying this formula if you haven’t already!
The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer
Having oily skin, I steered clear of highlighters for years, but a few months ago I felt like it was time for me to start experimenting with shimmery powders and I picked up the Mary-Lou Manizer. I was glad to find out that I can use it on my oily skin without turning into a disco ball (here I explained where I like to apply it), but it’s still a product I don’t reach for very often. This month things are different, though, and I’m trying to rock it as often as possible. I’ve found out it looks super pretty when used as an eyeshadow as well: sometimes I just press it on the lids with my finger and really love how it brightens up the eyes without being overly shimmery. Perfect for when I haven’t had enough of my beauty sleep! 😉
I feel like these posts are always going to be pretty lipstick-heavy, since I have a full arsenal of bullets that are eager to be put to good use. This is a shade I’m not really sure how to describe: sometimes it leans more red, sometimes more orange and sometimes more pink. Maybe a coral red? Anyways, I think it’s the perfect daytime lipstick if you want something with more oomph than a nude or MLBB, but don’t want to go too bright either. Despite what the name would suggest, the finish is more of a satin-matte, which makes it a great lip option for those who don’t tolerate true mattes. Just be prepared to reapply a couple of times throughout the day.
Have you ever tried any of these products? And what lipstick would you wear to conquer the world?
