The one where I show you the products I’m rediscovering during the current month. March lucky picks are…
YSL Gloss Volupté – 49 Terriblement Fuchsia
This shimmery, hot pink lip gloss and I will soon be featured in a new TV show centering around unsolved mysteries… I really have NO idea why I bought it. It’s the type of color I’d imagine Barbie to wear and we all know that my 5’5”, brown-eyed, brunette self couldn’t look any more different from the long-legged, blue-eyed, blond doll. These types of cool-toned pinks are possibly the only shades I don’t think I can pull off. I mean, you saw me pull off some bizarre hues on the lips, including black, chocolate brown and purple, but hot pink is just not for me. Anyways, this month I’ll have to wear the YSL Gloss Volupté in 49 Terriblement Fuchsia at least a couple of times, as a punishment for wasting a good chunk of money on something I never ever use.
YSL Rouge Volupté Shine – 19 Fuchsia in Rage
What’s with me and YSL cool-toned pinks?! This one is similar to the one above, but leans a little more purple. Definitely not the most flattering shade on me, but it does suit me a little bit better than the pink gloss, I think. The formula is very creamy and moisturizing and the finish is super shiny (I’m pretty sure it’s the shiniest lipstick I own). Despite being so creamy, it lasts quite well on the lips and leaves a very pretty stain behind.
KIKO Color Definition Eyeliner and Kajal – 04 Amazon Blue
I haven’t worn blue liner all winter, but my Spring 2016 FOTD has reminded me how great blue is at enhancing my eye color. This particular one is from KIKO’s Fall 2015 Rebel Romantic collection and is probably the most beautiful shade of blue I’ve ever seen (it kinda reminds me of Pantone Snorkel Blue, but darker), so it definitely deserves more love than it’s been getting.
KIKO Long-Lasting Stick Eyeshadow – 05 Rosy Brown
As I said before, I love KIKO’s shadow sticks for quick makeup looks: I apply them on the mobile lid and along the lower lashline straight from the stick, blend the edges with a fluffy brush, and… BAAAM, I’m out the door. Shade 05 Rosy Brown was the first one I bought, but ever since I got 06 Golden Brown, my favorite, it hasn’t gotten very much love. Well, this month I’m making up for that!
Chanel Le Blush Crème de Chanel – 65 Affinité
Chanel cream blushes have a BOMB formula, but sadly, they look like they’re being discontinued (why, Chanel? WHY???). Even though they’re supposed to be a cream-to-powder formula, they don’t really look like powder on the skin, the just look like… skin! The finish is matte, yet luminous (I guess satiny would be the best word to describe it), and they’re pigmented, yet easy to blend. I absolutely love the two shades I have! Affinité is a pretty, cool-toned pink, which will definitely be getting tons of love over the next few months (for some reason, I think spring calls for rosy cheeks).
Are there any colors you think don’t suit you? Do you have any barely touched products in those shades? Inquiring minds want to know…
