The Sisley Phyto Cernes Éclat Eye Concealer comes with a perfectly usable brush
My biggest ‘concern’ when doing my makeup is definitely concealing my under-eye area. I’m one of those gifted individuals who were lucky enough to have been born with a nice pair of purple semi-circles under the eyes.
AWESOME.
Yep, the skin around my eyes is so thin and transparent that I’ve had dark circles since I can remember. It goes without saying that concealer was the first makeup product I ever got, and even these days it’s the one thing I ALWAYS use.
Actually, most of the time I apply a peach-toned corrector first and then a beige concealer, since using the latter alone tends to make my dark circles stand out more by making them grey. NICE.
For years, my corrector of choice was the Bobbi Brown Corrector in Peach, but since it’s not the easiest product to get ahold of here (no Bobbi Brown in Italy), I recently decided to look for an easier-to-source alternative that were just as good.
I’m glad to report that I’ve found an even better one in the form of Sisley Phyto Cernes Éclat Eye Concealer in shade 2.
The Sisley Phyto Cernes Éclat Eye Concealer has a metal applicator that gives a nice cooling sensation
Despite being called a ‘concealer’, this shade has a strong peach undertone that makes it ideal to color correct the purple under my eyes. The shade is so right for me that I can actually get away with using the Sisley Phyto Cernes Éclat on its own.
It doesn’t completely erase my dark circles, but I don’t think any corrector or concealer could really do that, unless I piled layers and layers of product. But that’s not the way I like to do my makeup… I always try to achieve the best possible result using as little product as possible. I definitely prefer having a few imperfections peek through, rather than look like I’m wearing a mask.
L-R: Sisley Phyto Cernes Éclat Eye Concealer in shade 2 heavily swatched, my dark circle in all its glory, and my eye area after applying the Sisley Phyto Cernes Éclat under the eye and on the inner corner and setting it with the yellow powder in the Diego Dalla Palma Contouring Palette. Most days, that’s enough for me, but if I’m feeling fancy, I’ll also apply a light-reflecting concealer where I still have a bit of darkness.
Besides being the perfect shade, this concealer also has a perfect consistency that doesn’t emphasize the creases, fine lines, and occasional dryness I have under my eyes.
As an added bonus, the Phyto Cernes Éclat contains a number of ingredients (like Glycerin, Red Vine, Arnica, Ginkgo Biloba, Caffeine, Horsetail, and Carrot) aimed at hydrating and soothing, as well as reducing under-eye bags and dark circles.
Sisley Phyto Cernes Éclat Eye Concealer ingredients
Amazing, right?
Definitely! But don’t get too excited… This concealer is 107 bucks (€75 in Italy – and I got 20% off).
Insane, I know, but it’s actually much better value for money than the Bobbi Brown one, which is $25 for 0.05 oz. The Sisley Phyto Cernes Éclat is 0.61 oz, so for 4 times Bobbi Brown’s price you get 12 times more product.
It’s still a crazy amount to be spending all at once on one product, so if the Sisley Phyto Cernes Éclat Eye Concealer sounds like something you may like, I highly recommend going to a counter to try it on… You definitely want to make absolutely sure it’s a product that works for you, before investing in it.
Do you have genetic dark circles? What products do you use to conceal them? And what’s your makeup philosophy?

May 4, 2016 at 12:04 pmIt does cover your dark circles and blends in with your skin nicely 🙂 yes, I’ve been testing ways to really cover up my circles, by using a peach corrector, then concealer, then powder…it ends up cakey, but I notice it’s a little bit better when I do so before applying my foundation

May 4, 2016 at 7:04 pmI love that this concealer is not cakey at all! In the States it’s super expensive, though… :-/

May 4, 2016 at 12:53 pmI know this is a cult product and I believe one of Sisley’s best seller, yet this is the first time I’ve read a review about it! It sounds interesting!

May 4, 2016 at 6:39 pmWhen I saw the results on your under eyes, I was like ‘oh yea!’, it’s brilliant and the results are amazing. And then I saw the price and I was like ‘oh hell no, girl!’…guess I’m lucky that I don’t have dark circles, just a forest full of fine lines…

May 5, 2016 at 2:24 amWow it works really well on you! I JUST bought a Bobbi Brown corrector, too bad I didn’t read your post first. But I don’t think I could have stomached the “investment” anyway!

May 5, 2016 at 11:23 amThe result is truly amazing, there is a huge difference in the before and after picture! But €75? Omg, I paid €80 at the supermarket yesterday to buy the groceries for the week haha! I am glad I don’t have dark circles, only fine lines and tiny wrinkles! (Thanks mum) 🙂

May 5, 2016 at 2:37 pmWow, this concealer looks absolutely gorgeous! I know that Sisley is a beautiful brand and I’ve only ever seen great reviews about their products. It’s definitely at the top of the high-end price tags. But I think that when a product works and does exactly what it say, then it’s completely worth it. I agree with you about applying as minimal make-up as possible too. I literally do the same thing, as I think it’s so much better to look as natural as possible. I would love to try this concealer out next – it’s made your under eye look pretty flawless.:D

May 5, 2016 at 6:24 pmI still use the Bobby Brown Corrector, and even though you did the math for us so nicely, I would still be hesitant to spend that much at once for a makeup product.
And there is no Bobby Brown in Italy? That is strange, I thought you´d get them everywhere (okay, maybe with th exception of Kongo).

May 6, 2016 at 10:36 amI don’t have dark circles under my eyes (sowwy) so I don’t use under-eye concealer (double sowwy) but woah, this one really makes a world of difference! And yet you can’t see that it’s really there! Your eye area just looks naturally bright and fresh. That price though… UGH.

May 6, 2016 at 5:01 pmI do not have the dark circles and to be honest I rarely wear face make-up I more of an EYE gal. You are probably going to hate me for saying this but I really do not notice your circles all that much at all.. I think you look very beautiful as is 🙂

November 11, 2016 at 8:45 pmI know your review was posted in may but I just came across it because I am thinking of purchasing this concealer but I am concerned about it being thick and sticky like the bobbi brown one which I use now. The bobbi brown one covers darkness but it really is too thick and I don’t like that it pulls your under eye area when applying it; it also settles into or may even create fine lines under my eye it tends to get cakey. This one looks similar in shade but much creamier and not sticky is that true?

November 13, 2016 at 9:30 amHi Maria, the consistency of this one is completely different from the Bobbi Brown one. This is much more liquid and non-sticky, and it also feels more hydrating.
